REPORT: The Lakers have informed Rui Hachimura that they will not be bringing him back, per @LADEig.

Rui’s Lakers tenure:

228 regular season games

He shot over 41% from three in each of his final three seasons with LA, including a career-best 44.3% this past season.

Rui arrived in 2023 for Kendrick Nunn and three second-round picks and immediately became a major part of the Lakers’ Western Conference Finals run. He scored 29 points in his first playoff game as a Laker, averaged 12.2 points on 55.7% shooting during that postseason and shot 48.7% from three.

He also helped LA win the inaugural NBA Cup, recorded a career high 36 points in a Lakers uniform, hit his first career buzzer-beater and developed into one of the league’s most dependable playoff shooters.

His defense and consistency were not always perfect, but Rui embraced every role, produced when the pressure was highest and gave the Lakers far more value than anyone expected when the trade was made.
