Can somebody explain why SL banks’ floating interest rates “float” only when the rate increases?

POV: Rates have dropped from 26% to 16% but the bank decides to drop the “floating” rate of the existing loan only to 24%.

Is this how banks are supposed to profit?

ලංකාවේ පිරිමි දරුවන්ට මොකද වෙන්නේ?

කථිකාචාර්ය ලියනගේ අමරකීර්ති තමන්ගේ විශ්වවිද්‍යාල පන්තියේ ශිෂ්‍යාවන් 40 ක් සමඟ ඡායාරූපයක් පළ කර තිබෙනවා. ලංකාවේ සෑම උසස් අධ්‍යාපනයට යොමු වන බහුතරය කාන්තාවක් බවට පත්වී තිබෙනවා.

2010 වෙන කොට කැලණිය කලා පිඨයේ ශිෂ්‍යයන්ට වැඩිය ශිෂ්‍යාවන් ප්‍රමාණය ඉහළ ගිහින් තිබුණා. විශ්වවිද්‍යාලවල සිදුවන වෙනස්කම් ගැන රාවය පුවත්පතට දිගු ලිපි පෙළක් මම ලිව්වා. සමාජවිද්‍යාවට ‘කාන්තාවටත් උසස් අධ්‍යාපනය හා ආර්ථික අවස්ථාවන්’ සලසා දිය යුතුයැයි උගන්වන කොටත් ලංකාවේ විශ්වවිද්‍යාල කලා පිඨයන්ගේ බහුතරය ශිෂ්‍යාවන් බවට පත් වෙලා. දැන් ඉංජිනේරු හැර හැම තැනකට කාන්තාවන් වැඩියි. නැතිනම්, ගැහැණු පිරිමි හරි හරියට ඉන්නවා.

කොළඹ කළා පිඨයේ ගැහුණු 8 කට එක පිරිමියෙක් ඉන්න පන්ති තියෙනවා. ජයවර්ධනපුර කැලණිය දෙකේ ගැහැණු 6 කට එක පිරිමියයි කලා පිඨයේ ඉන්නේ.

ලංකාවේ පිරිමි දරුවන් උසස් අධ්‍යාපනයට යොමු නෙවන්නේ නම්, ඔවුන්ට රැකියාවක්, ආදායමක් ලබා ගැනීමට අවශ්‍ය අධ්‍යාපන හෝ වෘත්තීය අවස්ථා සකස් විය යුතුයි.

.@PickMeLK It’s been nearly impossible to get a tuk to accept a card trip. Some of them refuse to come & don’t even bother to cancel the trip from their end. Few even started & ended the trip without coming to the pickup location. Hope you take this seriously as it’s frustrating!
