a private university in ogun state has caused students and organizers of a trade fair to lose millions of naira, after the event was allegedly cancelled on the day it was scheduled to hold, despite the organizers having obtained permission and even received a grant from the school’s dean of student affairs.

vendors from lagos and neighbouring states, djs, and other attendees were denied entry into the institution.

the reason given for the cancellation, the school’s activity week was replaced with jihad week, and the vice-chancellor stated that the trade fair would be cancelled if attendance at the jihad lectures was not high enough. the organizers adjusted their schedule to run from 1–2pm and pleaded with students to attend the lecture first.

despite all this, the event was still cancelled, and students were threatened if found at the venue.
