BREAKING 🚨: First human crew beyond the Moon in over 50 years just sent back this photo of Earth — and you can literally see civilization glowing in the dark 🌍
context here: Derik Queen initially had 6asts vs the Bulls on Sunday. @nbastats changed it to 5asts today, almost 48 hours later, and @DKSportsbook clawed back the winnings from Derik Queen 6+ asts tickets.
my immediate questions:
1. why was this even being looked at almost 48 hours later? was there a reason to target this specific game or specific play, or does every single NBA game have their box scores re-audited 48 hours after the games have ended?
2. is there a statute of limitations on official stats? or can @nbastats retroactively edit any box score from any game at any time?
3. given the fact that @DKSportsbook relies on the official NBA stats when grading wagers, do THEY have a statute of limitations on bet grading? or can ANY of my previous NBA payouts (there aren't many) be clawed back at any time?
4. who is the primary decision maker at the NBA in regards to official stat corrections? what are the official standards & processes for situations like this?
5. why aren't stat corrections made available to the public? no one would've known Queen was stat-corrected until their money was unknowingly ripped from their wallets.
6. how many stat corrections have there been in total this season? what percentage of them involves DECREASING a player's stats? what percentage of them involves INCREASING a player's stats?
7. if the NBA is clearly open to the idea of stat-corrections, why is it impossible for bettors to get stat-corrections in their favor (or at the very least, explanations) when there are clear and obvious mistakes?
8. what happens when a live bet is made under the assumption a player has a specific number of stats, and then that number is later corrected? "Queen has 4 assists at halftime. i live-bet him at halftime for 8+ asts at +600. Queen is then stat-corrected to 3 assists right before the start of the 3rd quarter. my bet is now 100% less valuable... so thats it? im just fucked now? how is that possibly fair to the bettor?
i understand the NBA has enough scandals to keep everyone busy. but, in my opinion, the way the NBA stats office has operated for the last 5 years is the biggest gambling-related story that no one talks about. its the very reason why i barely bet on the NBA anymore. to put it very simply:
-- sportsbooks rely on the official stats from the NBA
-- the NBA has 2 stats (assists, rebounds) that are extremely subjective, are awarded inconsistently, and (apparently) are always under heavy scrutiny for stat-corrections
-- the NBA can retroactively change box scores at any time / DraftKings can retroactively claw back winnings at any time
-- bettors have ZERO visibility into the list of official stat-corrections, or how the process works in general
-- DraftKings is the official betting partner of the NBA

Has an NFL defense ever disguised like this?
They go from an all-out blitz look. To a man coverage look. To a Tampa 2 look. To playing what looks like Quarters on one side and C2 on the other.
Just diabolical stuff.
