Actually, it’s more like 4% of transactions and less than 2% of ESA funds.

Dear Ed Week,

This is 100% wrong, “leave the canon to English majors” is exactly how we lose civilization.

Classical literature is not just harder content. It is liberation. It rips students out of the tiny prison of their own age, their own trends, their own slogans, their own shallow assumptions about what matters. It reminds them the world did not begin with them, and that their feelings are not the measure of truth.

Shakespeare doesn’t teach “skills.” He reveals ambition, lust, betrayal, guilt, and the cost of sin. Homer teaches courage and honor. Augustine exposes the restless heart. Dante shows that loves can be ordered rightly or twisted into ruin. These books give students a map of the soul.

The real enemy isn’t Crime and Punishment. The real enemy is a culture training kids to be bored by silence and incapable of deep thought.

So no, don’t abandon the canon because it’s hard.

It is their way out of the matrix.

Gov. Hobbs has been extremely hostile to ESA since day 1. The gov. and state leg. races are the most important for ESA families. The leg. needs to stay R-majority or it will be overturned by democrats and over 90K students will lose their funding + ability to attend their schools

Wish more understood what these ACT scores signify: 55% of AZ high school *graduates* can’t attend college - not bc funding, racism or [insert] excuse - but because they literally are not cognitively capable of basic college level courses requiring a modicum of teachable skills.

In one quarter Deer Valley Votes 4 kids collects over $52,000 from corporations to push the ballot measure.

Many of these same corporations will benefit financially if the ballot measures are passed.

@azesamemes They also always assume you only have 1 child. Maybe you could pay out of pocket for one child, but double or triple that and it quickly becomes unobtainable.
