Knowing how buyers are discovering your names is important.

We've now begun tracking buyer search queries that lead to specific landing page views, and we will soon start sharing that data in the Seller Dashboard.

Placing a word on the left vs right can result in significantly different STR. For example "SmartMoney" vs "MoneySmart" or "HelloSign" vs "SignHello".

Here are the top 25 words where we noticed the largest difference in STR based on left vs right word placement

We've been thinking about how to better assess end-user interest in domains. Here are some interesting findings and a new framework based on that analysis

Power words such as "Up", "Hello", "True" can often be combined with more specific industry words to create unique brand names such as Upwork, HelloFresh, TrueCar.

We analyzed this data and here's a list of top 25 power words that achieved the highest STR and sales.

Including colors in brand names can be an effective way to add emotional appeal to a brand.

Based upon our data, domains with "Aqua" had the highest sell-through rate in comparison to other colors.

Domains with "Blue" achieved the largest number of sales overall

Word + Animal combinations are often used to create brandable names which can add a unique character.

We saw the highest STR from names with "Goat" keyword, likely because of the association with G.O.A.T.

In terms of absolute sales, "Bee" generated the most sales.

Sharing some fresh insights based upon our recent analysis of 2022 data

Word + Suffix is a good technique to create distinctive brand names.

Based on our data, Domains ending with "fi" resulted in the best STR. Here are the top suffixes sorted by STR:

Knowing when other TLDs for your domains have been registered = Good

Knowing when other TLDs for your domains have actually been developed = Even Better

We will now proactively start notifying sellers when someone develops a website for their domain in a different extension
