A TRIBUTE TO DR. WILLIAM OKOYE
Today, I attended the funeral of a man I consider a true man of God, Dr. William Okoye, a man who dedicated his life fully and genuinely to the service of God and humanity.
Dr Okoye was a pioneer Pentecostal pastor in what is today Abuja, dating back to 1985. He later served as the Aso Rock Chaplain for eight years during the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo.
What stood out to me about his life was that, despite his proximity to power, he remained steadfast and, by all accounts, committed to his faith and calling without allowing the trappings of public life to define him.
I also recalled our partnership during my time as Governor of Anambra State on a programme aimed at imparting virtues and values to young people. His commitment to raising a generation grounded in character and service was evident.
In my remarks, I described him as a man whose life was a testimony to the fact that it is possible to be close to power without being consumed by it, and to serve God and humanity with sincerity and integrity.
May God grant him eternal rest and comfort his family, church, and all those whose lives he touched. -PO
One Month Discount on Petrol: From Reactive Policies to Flawed Outcomes!
The announcement by the APC led Federal Government offering a 30-day discount on price of petrol to relieve the acute hardship and hunger caused Nigerians by its unplanned removal of subsidy can only be described as another very reactive and confused approach to governance that is now the culture of the Tinubu Government.
I had delayed in reacting to the announcement just to give the benefit of doubt and watch the outcome of the policy. Now, having assessed the outcomes, the policy is a substitution of political optics for sound policy.
As Nigerians will recall, President Bola Tinubu on May 29, 2023, most carelessly removed fuel subsidy without any consultation or proper assessment of the negative impacts of such policies on our economy particularly on the livelihood of ordinary Nigerians.
Moreover, the careless removal of fuel subsidy was followed by other very badly sequenced policies such as the floating of the naira and tax reforms, all implemented in a very disorganized, incompetent and insensitive manner in addition to using three budgets at the same time with the attendant lack of transparency and accountability. Collectively, these policies stoked inflation in all sectors, pushing in most cases unbearable price hikes across board which placed severe shocks and other adverse consequences on Nigerians.
Expectedly, the outcomes are what they are- increasing multi-dimensional poverty, skyrocketing costs of goods and services, shrinking opportunities, exit of many businesses, mounting unemployment, disturbing insecurity, widening inequality, forced migration of our youths and general decline in the well-being of Nigerians.
Most unfortunately, rather than engage in detailed and published regulatory impact assessment of their reactive policies, the President Bola Tinubu’s led government has again demonstrated their well-known incompetence and insensitivity to governance.
With a detailed and published regulatory impact assessment of policies, a competent government would have pursued robust and sincere engagements and consultations with key stakeholders and ordinary Nigerians to recraft and implement inclusive and sustainable socio-economic growth strategies and policies.
What really does the President Bola Tinubu led government want to achieve with a one-month discount of less than 5% on fuel cost. Will it reduce poverty, unemployment, insecurity, and inequality? Will it increase productivity and exports? Is it a test to ascertain if subsidy should be restored? Is it another political gambit in the face of threats of electoral loss in the 2027 election? Too many questions, no answer!
Some meals are more than food; they're home, culture, and memories. 🥹💚 Afang soup will always have a special place in my heart.

If you fly from Buhari to Tinubu & then to the third person in the group, that’s your choice.
Happy Sunday!
After we called this foolish @iamDo2dtun out, he rushed to make a post about Arewa and the Chinese influx, then screenshotted it, removed the date and made it seem he made the tweet much earlier

ANNOUNCING OUR OBIDIENT OF THE WEEK
Being a public figure comes with influence. What matters is how you choose to use it.
This week, we celebrate Laide Olabanji as our Obidient of the Week.
As a popular Nigerian actor, he has a platform that reaches beyond the usual political conversations. He has consistently used that platform to support Peter Obi, engage Nigerians on the future of their country, and encourage people to think critically about the leadership Nigeria deserves.
In an industry where public figures can choose to keep their political views to themselves, Laide has continued to make his voice count. He understands that the future of Nigeria is too important to be left to politicians alone. Every citizen, regardless of profession or public standing, has a role to play in shaping it.
His example reminds us that influence can be more than entertainment or popularity. It can be a tool for raising questions, challenging old assumptions, and inspiring people to imagine a different Nigeria.
We celebrate Laide Olabanji for bringing his voice and influence into the conversation about our country's future.
Congratulations, Laide Olabanji, our Obidient of the Week.
A New Nigeria is POssible.

Dear Serah Ibrahim @TheSerahIbrahim
Let me say one thing! You have nothing to prove to anyone! You have done a great job and still doing a great job!
Your ability to do everything behind the scene and refusal to be in front of the camera especially in today’s world where people are more interested in positioning than in working is one of the things I admire so much about you!
Many of us have not done 1% of the work you have done from 2022 to date. From grassroot mobilization to building structures to getting resources and even using your resources etc.
Talking is cheap and everyone has an opinion. It is okay!
You have put your life on the line several times! From being chased by terrorists to entering places where even security agents are afraid to enter! You are my heroine!!
You have been one that has fought for people in rooms they are not even in! I remember how angry you were that I decided to walk away from the senatorial primary shenanigans in Abuja. I know you still haven’t forgiven me for not giving gbos to the gbas! 😍 But like we all agreed, having Peter Obi in Aso Rock was worth all the sacrifices and the see finish received!
You also know the plans of those who have been looking for ways to put in a wedge, by picking on one person and making all sorts of allegations and insinuations. We have laughed over some of the falsehoods and lies. What did they not say about me too?!
Let them keep talking while you keep doing. Your strategy, intelligence, hard work and craziness has been of immeasurable value and those who know, know!
Love you girl!!!!
@RaheemRasaq_@TheSerahIbrahim@PeterObi Peter obi need to control you, As an adult you should be owing what you’re commenting or posting online…. You people should stop bringing Peter obi in every issues Abeg.
