Paul knew and taught this long before the research was formalised.
Romans 2:4- “God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance.”
Not his judgement. Not his wrath. Not his threats.
His kindness.
Physical punishment and threats don’t produce better behaved children long term.
What they actually produce is children who are good at one thing: being good at not getting caught
The unwanted behaviour stops when you’re watching. The moment you’re not, it starts again.
God isn’t a parent who threatens and punishes until you comply.
He’s the Father who runs toward the returning son before a word of apology is spoken.
The love comes first. The turning follows. That’s always been the order.
The bad scene is so good because you can tell Jaafar had just locked in on the vibes. I don’t think he’s trying to match anything exactly frame by frame, but it seems like the dances are just coming to him organically.
I’ve put together a reading guide built around everything in this thread.
Designed to give you the right foundation first, so nothing you read after feels disconnected from it.
If you’d like to see it, DM me and I’ll send it across.
Whether you’re a Christian, exploring faith, or just curious, the Bible can feel genuinely overwhelming.
Where do you start? What order? Is any of it even relevant today?
Fortunately, there is indeed a starting point that makes everything else begin to make a bit more sense👇🏾
The bible isn’t just read. It’s experienced.
For believers, the Holy Spirit guides you into truth.
For non-believers, that same Spirit is ready to meet you there. All that’s required is a willingness to hear. No pressure. No agenda. Just an open mind.
