So many valuable points in this session from the speakers and audience alike. Heartened to hear the viewpoint of the 2nd year medical student and a young clinician about the importance of patient engagement

#hpcc excellent points from @KirstyCrozier about the importance of patient empowerment, ensuring that you as the patient have responsibility for ensuring you are listened to and the value in patient advocacy charities who can support you
#hpcc24 attending this Congress at QE2 conference centre. Excellent panel discussion Looking to the Future of Value Based Patient Centred Care. What does "Good" look like? For the patient, it simply means health and quality of life
@zerotofinals Nice graphics and summary but the test for IF antibodies is only accurate in around 40%-60% of cases so a negative IF test doesn't rule out PA. Treat symptoms not serum levels.
@wtaf76 @LeilaGriffiths@iam_emilyanne Pernicious anaemia is the name for an autoimmune condition which inhibits the body's ability to absorb b12. If left untreated, Pernicious anaemia can lead to b12 deficiency and ultimately megaloblastic anaemia and permanent neurological damage.
@ejustin46 Would be interesting to know what more accurate statistics would be on pernicious anaemia if there were more adequate tests available it was better diagnosed
