Don't miss out on support for prescriptions, property taxes, groceries, and more!
From Pittsburgh to the Lehigh Valley, I’ve met with Pennsylvanians who rely on direct support professionals every day — and I've talked to their caregivers about what they need.
The answer was clear: we need more folks who want to do this life changing work and we need to raise their wages.
This is a reminder that Pennsylvania's minimum wage has not changed since 2009. That's 15 years!
Since then, the buying power of the minimum wage has plummeted by 30%. Higher wages mean a stronger economy and stronger communities.
In 2021, the temporary expansion of the Child Tax Credit significantly improved outcomes for children and families in several areas, including reducing food hardship. Tell Congress to give families relief now and pass the expanded Child Tax Credit today!
When fully in effect, it would lift some half a million or more children above the poverty line & make 5 million children less poor by bringing their incomes closer to the poverty line. https://t.co/AnlXPHqMep

"The current statute conflicts with a federal law designed to protect the educational rights of homeless students. The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act requires school districts to immediately enroll students experiencing housing insecurity..."
"In November, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives unanimously passed legislation that would reverse a state law allowing schools to keep out any students, including homeless children, during residency disputes."

Our City’s Zero Fare program represents the country’s most expansive transit access program for low-income riders. Through this program, we hope to reduce barriers to transportation for 25,000 residents—expanding their access to the city they call home. https://t.co/DtLGnxhasb
We’re making exciting progress on the City’s new Zero Fare pilot program! The first 1,000 selected participants already show early use of this new benefit.
By the end of 2023, we plan to have automatically enrolled 25,000 residents with low incomes for free SEPTA transit.
