These months have been very difficult for all of us, but even much more difficult for our President. Election rigged. Comrades abducted, tortured and others raped. His two Deputy Presidents among those abducted. The third one arrested and charged with terrorism. His Home attacked by the military. Forced to flee for his life. Home attacked again. Wife assaulted. Property vandalised. Items stolen. Edith Mufumbiro dead. Quickly followed by Hon. Hellen Nakimuli. Not able to physically say farewell to these, his beloved friends, because he is forced by circumstances not to be around. Not because he committed any offence, but because he dared challenge the Museveni regime.
He and his family need our prayers. They need our support. Leading an organisation that is hounded left, right and center in such times isn't an easy task.
"Humble me, Lord, when my pride gets louder than your grace. Remind me that everything I have is because of you. Help me stay grounded, kind, and grateful. Teach me to lead with love. To listen more than I speak and to always choose humility over recognition" ~ Anonymous
To a blessed Sunday🙏🏽
This morning at Luzira Women's Prison, we checked on our comrades Mama Lina Zedriga Waru, Kaija Doreen, Olivia Lutaaya and Sauda Madaada. The story of Deputy President Lina Zedriga from the time of her abduction till her production in court is very depressing. She was held in the same safe house with Deputy President Jolly Jacklyn Tukamushaba. It is a story of dehumanisation. But she is very strong. She sends you greetings and appreciates all of us for everything done to demand their freedom.
Information coming in is that the regime in Uganda is going to order for a complete shut down of the internet in a short while. No matter what they do, the world is watching.
