Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! Thank you for putting everything into educating our children! You change the world everyday, and we celebrate you this week!
Two Lafayette High students have produced a video and organized a corresponding mental health project which they hope will impact people.
Students are being asked to watch the video and then complete a statement on a slip of paper. The paper cards carry the message “You are….”
Today we celebrate principals, assistant principals, administrative interns, and all other titles for the instructional leaders in our buildings. Thank you for managing, but for also finding the time to lead the learning of our students and teachers! Principals Rock!
I wish that college professors would do the same. I think our college students would do well to have a long break without returning to a major test or paper due.
Memo to teachers everywhere:
NO 👏 HOMEWORK 👏 OVER 👏 BREAK 👏
It is called a BREAK for a reason. The work can wait.
If our principals assigned us mandatory PD over a vacation or holiday break, we’d be livid.
Why are we holding children to higher standards than adults?
Thanks to the Project Parkway Student Advisory for providing input on how to address the mental health of students. One theme shared—Keep talking about it to normalize it for staff and students and parents. @ParkwaySchools
A3 Maybe I am crazy or do not know how to work sticker charts or other motivators like them, they just never work for me. I find relationships built on trust and transparency help motivate me and the Ss I work with. People that bond tend to do anything for one another. #tlap
SLACCA was a tremendous support as we worked with both curriculum and assessment. If you haven't found a PLN that supports your work, you probably haven't looked lately! #PLN#EdPlus
I love that you are taking the time to recognize the Assistant Principals! This is a position that does so much work, and at times, can get so little recognition.
A huge thanks to the 10 APs on our Summer School planning team. You all work so hard for kids! I love working with you. #WSDlearns#wsdr4allkids@WSDinfo
Please remember that all those interactions you have with your students outside of the lesson really matter. The smiles... the eye contact... the jokes... the fist bumps... the silliness...they’re all important. They remind kids that they matter. Those moments can mean the world.
It's Paraprofessional Appreciation Day! We know that our students' progress is directly impacted by the work each of our paras does for our school community. Thank you, Neuwoehner Paras!
9 out of every 10 students attend a public school. Public schools welcome every child—regardless of ability, race, wealth, language, country of origin or needs. #PublicSchoolProud
