@MissDSays I think Y3 is the height of when you need to rebuild their learning behaviours. It takes a lot of effort but you just need to be consistent. Develop some silent signals, consistently remind them of the class rules and stick to your guns.

@LiteracyShed @RachelOrr I had a small Y6 extended writing group last year and showed them this. I’ve probably used it with every UKS2 class I’ve taught.

@MichaelRosenYes I lead Music training for trainee teachers and teach them specifically how to teach children to sing. It’s such a vital skill but one the primary teachers shy away from.
Singing in Assemblies isn’t as common (assemblies themselves aren’t) so children rarely sing.
