Launch of Mayor of London’s heat plan. Provides guidance for authorities on how to cool the city transport and properties. The cost will be huge but the Mayor says inaction will cost more.
Tomorrow many train companies saying only travel if absolutely necessary. Tfl say: “consider if your journey is necessary.” When systems fail (which they will in this heat) if fewer passengers a lot easier to deal with. Good luck.
#Heatwave this week:
Tues - check before you travel.
Wed - only travel if absolutely necessary to, from or within red warning zones.
Thurs - only travel if absolutely necessary to, from or within red warning zones.
Fri - check before you travel.

Travel advice for Tuesday 23 June, Wednesday 24 June and Thursday 25 June ⚠️
Very high temperatures may cause disruption to some Tube and rail services, particularly the London Overground and Elizabeth line.
If you need to travel:
- Carry water 💧
- Allow extra time ⏰
- Travel at quieter times where possible 🚶
Buses are expected to run as normal.
Check the latest service updates, Journey Planner and TfL Go before travelling: https://t.co/mwWmpolMtK
The London regulation around carrying passengers in driverless minicabs is really interesting & not certain. 2 routes - permit via Govt with Tfl consent OR if safety driver apply through normal PHV process at Tfl. That is going to be contentious.
