@will_nba_hater @PeterAppel23 Judge is awesome and a first-ballot HOFer. But Yordan is insanely awesome too. The only thing that might keep Yordan out of the HOF is health.

@will_nba_hater @PeterAppel23 There has to be a better comp for Yordan than Devin friggin’ Booker. I can’t let that slide.

@pieces1228 @voiceofcohen2 It was his typical MO with Houston outside of a couple seasons from what I can recall. Always seemed to go supernova in August especially his last few seasons in Houston. Career ops of .970 in August attests to it. He also is a guy you can depend on in the postseason. Good luck.

@michaelschwab13 Look at what happened with the family back in the 80s and 90s and look at who has run it into the ground. Hasn’t been connected to the family who started it for decades now. Shell of what it was sadly. More quintessential Houston fading away.

Dolly Parton rose from poverty to stardom. She gave $500 to every student in her hometown who finished high school, she built hospitals and bald eagle preserves; her Imagination Library has gifted 300 million books to children. Roger Ebert once met her and came away thinking she was a literal angel. RIP.

@Macbra2 @MicrophoneMilo I get the age thing but Abreu was someone who the Astros org had loved for a long time. They had finished second in the blind bidding for him back in ‘13. And he was probably a guy they thought would be an exception for better or worse.

[Bobby Boutso @BBoutso37072]

@Macbra2 @MicrophoneMilo Idk. Just relaying what I’ve read. Could be where Click was more than willing to do two years but was hesitant on three but it became a moot point after he was fired. I know he supposedly made an ass of himself at November meetings that year which didn’t help his situation.

[Bobby Boutso @BBoutso37072]

@Macbra2 @MicrophoneMilo I think Daikin and all of that played a role as well. This org needed to get involved in the Asian Pacific Rim area regardless. Just our luck that we pick one of the headcases who can’t adjust.

[Bobby Boutso @BBoutso37072]

@MicrophoneMilo @Macbra2 Yep, Abreu’s xBA in ‘22 was .292 and 98th percentile along with 91st percentile xSLG. Always a risk that older guys crater but I doubt they thought Abreu would just completely fall off of a cliff hitting wise. I didn’t hate the move at all at the time.

[Bobby Boutso @BBoutso37072]

@Macbra2 @MicrophoneMilo I know Click had a weird relationship with both Dusty and Crane. It’s been a shitshow since the scandal tbh in the front office.

[Bobby Boutso @BBoutso37072]

@Macbra2 @MicrophoneMilo There’s an insider on Clutchfans who swears that the Abreu and Montero deals were in motion long prior to Click being fired. Who knows? None of it even matters anymore. I don’t think Bagwell has as much power as some people believe.

[Bobby Boutso @BBoutso37072]

@MakeMeASammitch @Jakefaust @brianmctaggart Isn’t Padres farm considered worse by some and they were able to trade for both Ray and Mize? I also don’t think the Astros farm is even close to the worst now after this most recent draft and the seasons Neyens, Alvarez, Fermin, etc have had. Kinda glad they didn’t trade atp
