Tractor-Trailer Packed With Illegals Catches Fire During Pursuit in South Texas

A big rig carrying dozens of illegal aliens erupted in flames during a human smuggling bust in Hidalgo County last night.

The driver of the truck reportedly fled from a Border Patrol checkpoint in Falfurrias, sparking a high-speed pursuit on US 281.

After the vehicle passed over a spike strip laid by TxDPS troopers, a fire broke out in the trailer for reasons that remain unclear.
