Het geweld in Amsterdam was geen botsing tussen groepen hooligans, maar politiek. Voor Marcel van Roosmalen is iedereen die zoekt naar verzachtende omstandigheden af. https://t.co/FUBmfUvU4k
Today I got a text from a friend I haven’t spoken with in ages and they asked, “how is life?” and I didn’t know where to begin, but after a brief update, I texted, “I’m trying to be grateful and curious and useful” and I realized if I’m doing all that, I’m doing pretty all right
I just pitched and landed a story about a question very relevant to my personal life and now I’m getting paid to interview psychologist experts about it and this is my workaround for not being able to afford therapy 🤷🏼♀️
Each person deserves a day away in which no problems are confronted, no solutions searched for. Each of us needs to withdraw from cares which will not withdraw from us.

if you submit to this, please think long and hard about whether you're ready to tell your story to such a massive audience. I know it should be obvious, but this is the kind of prompt that fed the personal-essay era of the early 2000s and those essays ruined people.
Every year I read a new article about how much money @MariahCarey has made from "All I Want For Christmas Is You" and every time I read about it, I just think "there is not and will never be enough money in the world to sufficiently pay this woman for the joy this song brings me"
Of all the books I’ve read (a lot), the one that most profoundly altered my outlook on life is Viktor Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning. I owned it for years before I read it, but a little more than a year ago I finally did, and it pulled me out of a period of deep melancholy.
Hello, I’m looking to commission pieces on ‘relatable’ topics for Grazia magazine, specifically around money, relationships, cheating, exhaustion, friendship, dating, work etc. Topics women in their 20s -40s would nod their head to in recognition. (1/2)
Someone in my building is cooking breakfast sausage and the scent has crawled under my door and made itself at home in my apartment and it reminds me of being 5 and eating breakfast at my grandparents' cabin and now I'm unexpectedly getting to spend this morning with my grandma
The new director of e-commerce interrupted me mid-sentence yesterday.
I let him finish.
Then I asked: "Do you want me to finish my sentence from earlier?"

It wasn't my goal to embarrass him.
I think he's actually quite brilliant.
But sometimes I am just tired of being treated like a C-class citizen who is stupid just because I run an agency.
Writing has given me more meaning than any work I've ever done. I dreamed about it for decades, then during the pandemic, I took a writing class & built on that. It's never too late. Don't worry about not knowing, not being good enough, not being sure...just go, try, write!!! :)
