He heard one scream, "I got one!" before the others ripped off his badge, stripped him of his radio, and seized his ammunition that was secured to my body.
They beat him with their fists and what felt like hard metal objects.
He heard chanting from some in the crowd - "Get his gun!" and "Kill him with his own gun!"
This officer suffered a heart attack and a traumatic brain injury.
Trump pardoned those six men.

• Trump’s approval has fallen to 32%
• 1 in 6 Trump voters now say they wouldn’t vote for him again, while around 15% say they might vote differently or not vote at all if they could redo 2024
• Identification with MAGA among Republicans has fallen 9 points since March 2026
• Institutional confidence remains near a historic low… just 27% across 14 major American institutions
• And 89% of Americans now say corruption in the US Govt is widespread… the highest level Gallup has recorded

And something deeper is happening…
Americans are increasingly divided not merely over who should govern… but over whether the people and institutions governing them can be trusted at all… even America’s foreign-policy consensus is showing cracks…

83% of Americans say their country interferes in the affairs of other countries… while the share saying America contributes to global peace and stability has fallen from 69% in 2023 to 57% in 2026…

So this may be bigger than Trump vs Democrats… bigger than MAGA vs liberals… the deeper problem is becoming America vs its own political system…

When citizens lose confidence in their politicians… lose confidence in institutions… lose confidence in the media… and increasingly question whether their Govt’s actions are making their country or the world safer…
you have a crisis of political trust… and that is where things become more dangerous...

Not necessarily because America is already heading toward a civil war… but because a democracy becomes vulnerable when its citizens stop believing that its institutions can peacefully resolve their deepest political conflicts…

America isn’t there yet… but the warning lights are on…!!!
