I often remember this beautiful hadith of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ:

"Indeed, the world is cursed, and everything in it is cursed, except the remembrance of Allah, what is connected to it, a knowledgeable person and a learner."

~At-Tirmidhi 2322; Sunan Ibn Majah 4112.

The more I think about this hadith, the more I remind myself that everything we are so busy chasing in this dunya will eventually be left behind.

Our wealth, positions, titles, houses, cars, businesses, influence and possessions will all remain here when we leave.

We will die, and we will take none of these things with us.

What, then, are we actually taking to the Hereafter?

𝐃𝐡𝐢𝐤𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡.

The remembrance of Allah and everything connected to it.

𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞.

And being a person of knowledge or a person who sincerely seeks knowledge.

That is why I keep reminding myself: wherever you are, remember Allah.

If you are sitting and have nothing to do, say:

SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi.
SubhanAllahil-’Azim.

Say:

Astaghfirullah.

Say:

La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.

Say:

Hasbunallahu wa ni’mal wakeel.

Say:

La ilaha illallah.

You can remember Allah while walking. You can remember Allah while driving. You can remember Allah while waiting. You can remember Allah in those quiet moments when nobody is demanding your attention.

Fill those moments with something that will still have value when everything else has been left behind.

And beyond dhikr, pursue beneficial knowledge. Learn. Teach. Share what is beneficial. Do things that you can reasonably hope Allah will accept and reward in the Hereafter.

This is not a call to abandon the dunya. It is a reminder not to let the dunya become the destination.

Work. Build. Provide. Lead. Earn. Raise your family. Serve people. Pursue excellence.

But never forget where you are ultimately going.

Because one day, everything we spent our lives accumulating will belong to someone else.

And only our deeds will remain with us.

May Allah make us people of abundant dhikr, beneficial knowledge, sincere learning and righteous deeds. May He make the best of our deeds the ones we meet Him with. Ameen.

A university seized from crime is now a federal university.

The recovered campus in Kaduna State became the Federal University of Applied Sciences, and in December 2025, 1,909 students matriculated there. Young people who, in the ordinary course of things, would never have seen the inside of a lecture hall. Think of what that alone does for the local economy of Southern Kaduna.

Another private university has just been finally forfeited to the Federal Government. The house built there for the vice chancellor is bigger than the president’s residence in the Villa. The pictures are public — look them up.

Beyond cash, between October 2023 and July 2026 we secured the forfeiture of 10,053 assets: real estate, land, vehicles, electronics, schools, factories, hotels, oil rigs, barges, machinery and aircraft, along with 102 tonnes of solid minerals. Disposals so far have returned ₦12.07 billion to the Federal Government.

This is what enforcement looks like when it moves beyond punishment. Every asset taken from a criminal enterprise lowers the reward for the next one — and some of it comes back as a classroom.
