We have been working on our latest update. Here is a sneak peak of our work in progress. Things like GDA2020
National Coverage
Coming to Android very soon.
@lidarnews@AutodeskRevit@AutodeskReCap Should also use unified and decimated clouds in Revit - leave the mirror balls for viewing in Recap only. Also use local coordinates, not geodetic. Bigger jobs should be tiled RCS - turn on/off clouds for current work area. While we are at it - #Cloudworx + LGS is worth the $.
@bondbryanBIM Literally re-issuing 200GB of point cloud for the 3rd time, because a client couldn't fudge their 4 or 5 dispare models of buildings on a site. They are realigning from scratch to fit survey (crazy idea!). They have blown a week+ trying to make it work in Revit, BIM360 etc.
@bondbryanBIM A "model location survey" that picks up/installs a few points (ie screws), measures them with GPS, gets it north, truncates the coordinates, picks up a few major walls to ensure a proper orientation, maybe connects to boundaries - is awfully cheap compared to the fudging later.

Laser scan of an underground car park to understand clearances for the volumetric land resumption for @CrossRiverRail - the laser scan and spherical imagery will also form part of any delapidation survey. ~ 200 scans - @LeicaGeosystems#rtc360#surveying#pointcloud
@BadBoyofBIM Not up-to-the minute .. but a 4-node storage spaces direct cluster with M60's, 40gbit dual networking, mix of nvme, ssd and spinning, 384gb ram per node. Goes ok.
@BadBoyofBIM Swings and roundabouts. You have roundabouts? Anyway I digress! Virtualised storage, network, ram, processor - has it advantages. Will it beat up-to-the-minute bare metal? No. But when you need to allocate an extra TB here or GB of RAM there, it is sure nice.

And the very best part of this (subject to testing - not sure how the phone routing might actually behave!) is users won't have Internet while scanning meaning less distractions!
@Paul_HDS Hi Paul, save us looking it up - how does licensing work again - as in the count of devices? We have been using a dedicated ipad for the RTC - but see phones being more popular and more numerous. Was it 5 devices with Field per rego license?
