Perspective changes everything.
“I grew up watching my dad wake up at 4:30 for a job he didn’t like. So if I can’t wake up early and work hard at a job I do like, I shouldn’t be playing football.”
Powerful words from Cam Ward.
Gratitude and grit.
‼️Every coach and leader should listen to this.
📢The success Indiana has achieved has not been an accident.
💪This is a 45 second synopsis of how you become elite.
For all the players out there, this is a must-watch clip from @jefflovecchio
If you don’t like where you’re at on your team’s depth chart right now…
Continue to grow every day and excel in the role you’re in, which will earn you more rope and opportunity will find you.

@DStarmanHockey I love this. Everyone is pushing for that garbage in the Hudson valley too. Kids need to play in small areas and learn how to make decisions quickly. The amount of time in space in any of the zones only decreases with age. So why not prepare them accordingly
For all the coaches out there...
If you want to develop your skills as a coach - go talk to teachers.
I just got back from my elementary school kids' Parent Night and I learned more in that hour about how to coach than I have in a long time.
Teachers are amazing at setting up a classroom, planning a curriculum, creating an environment for learning, teaching life-lessons through education, etc...all things that translate into being a coach.
Learning how to be a better coach isn't just about developing your hockey knowledge. It's about developing you skills as a communicator and teacher as well.
This is MUST READ. Substitute "hockey" in for "football" and it's the same message.
Don't chase the extra "A" before puberty. Find a coach that will instill a love of the game in your kid.
I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited for a sporting event that didn’t involve a team I root for.
Incredible work by @Sportsnet on this hype video.
I urge everyone to watch this.

Some individuals will focus on being the best player on the team.
Champions will focus on being the best player for the team.
Success comes when teammates begin to play for each other NOT just with each other.
NO STRUGGLE, NO GROWTH
Sean McVay said, "Show me anybody that's great in anything they do, I'll show you somebody that's persevered, demonstrated that mental toughness to overcome some obstacles and adversity."
Growth only happens when you accept these 3 things:
1. There will be adversity and challenges - Accept that challenges are a natural part of progress. Recognize that setbacks, mistakes, and challenges aren't signs of incompetence, but rather opportunities for growth and learning. This mindset will allow you to approach new opportunities with curiosity and resilience instead of avoidance.
2. Hard work and effort is required - True growth requires effort and dedication. It's not just about talent or luck, but the consistent work you put into developing skills and overcoming hurdles. To enhance this process, set clear goals, maintain discipline, and remember that each small step of effort accumulates into significant progress over time.
3. Growth is a journey - Development isn't a destination, but an ongoing journey. This perspective helps you appreciate each phase of growth, practice gratitude, and be more resilient through the process. Trusting in your capacity to learn, adapt, and improve is the foundation upon which personal development is built.

Hockey Parents: Hard coaching is necessary if your kid wants to get to the highest levels of the game.
I know it's hard sometimes when your kids are being held accountable. I know there's times where you probably think it's not fair. But resilience is such an important skill if you want to make the next levels of hockey.
Your kid being pushed outside their comfort zone is a necessary piece to development. Failure and working through the uncomfort, when learned early in the journey, can help to create the mental toughness needed to withstand the ups and downs of the difficult journey ahead.
Adversity is one of the greatest teachers in the world when we choose to see the opportunity for growth inside of it.
If you have a coach that pushes your kid hard and outside their comfort zone, relish it.
If they have a coach that benches them when they are not giving effort or have a bad attitude, relish it.
That is a great thing.
They care.
And it's only going to help them to develop the hockey and life skills to reach their goals and dreams.
Challenge players to use the middle zone entry.
Slowly turns from automatic turnover to:
seeing possibilities while turning the puck over to:
quality scoring opportunities time and time again.
Challenge the players then give time and reps to work through the situation.
