It’s a tale of two seedsies (sorry) in Jersey. The first photo shows the seedlings harvested from last year’s 🥈sunflower, while the 2nd shows the barren wilderness where seeds from our TFFSL packets were sown. In fairness to us, we did send those packets 3years ago!

How are everyone’s sunflowers coming along? Last week, we handed out millions of seeds for customers to grow at home. We visited schools, care homes and community groups too, all in the name of planting Seeds of Hope.

They’ve planted in Gomshall and have seedlings in West Byfleet. Keep an eye on the competition between these two. They’ve been friends for 20 years, and though they are warm, generous and lovely people I’ve ever met, I’m not sure I’d want to arm-wrestle either of them. #ruthless

Our teddy bear sunflower dealer is getting nervous. She’s not seen growth from any of the seeds she harvested last year and she knows that we’ve been selling them at £10 a packet. Can anyone reassure her that yours are growing fine (or that you’re not going to take us to court?)

These guys are probably my pick for favourites in this year’s competition. As the old proverb goes, there’s nothing so dangerous as a 2nd year entrant who in the first year had their saplings eaten by a dog, but still recovered to finish 2nd. #inittowinit

Charlie, along with his older brothers Jack and Harry, made their debut last year, and for a long time had the fastest growing and tallest sunflowers.

This year, Charlie has just started his potting. I think he’s starting Lichfield Sunflower Farm...and I love it! 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

Our 2018 Champ sent me these photos this week. This is the woman who buys vampire-bothering stakes, once used a hairdryer to try to coax her sunflower out, and grows giant sunflower houses. I’m delighted that she is growing 🌻 this year. We’re a poorer, quieter lot without her.

@BritishGasHelp three new direct debits have just been set up on our (charity) bank account, with BG Services as the beneficiary. We didn’t set them up (we don’t have premises that would require your services). How can we remove them quickly please?
