I played my linear regression game, Fit the Line, with my class and it worked great. Students guess the line of best fit by eye, then see the real regression line. https://t.co/3rBpndFLb9 #MTBoS#iteachmath#APStats#edtech
Can you eyeball a regression line? 👀
Checkout my new game. Fit the Line: place your trendline on a scatter plot, then see how close you got to the least-squares fit. 10 rounds, retro arcade style, free.
Play solo or run it with your whole class: https://t.co/3rBpndFLb9
Does the famous box fan filter hack actually clear wildfire smoke, or is it just hype? I ran the test to find out.

My first app is live! Built this because I got tired of juggling stopwatches at track practice. Time up to 6 runners/groups with run/rest splits and export it all to a spreadsheet. Free, no ads, no login. Give it a shot https://t.co/Uy5QBgnVtQ
@tferriss I think you would really enjoy the climbing video "Dropping Molly" about climbing and mental health. I am not associated with the film. https://t.co/oKnju00fVU
If you teach about air pollution this is a great calculator for turning PM2.5 exposure to the equivalent health impacts in number of cigarettes. https://t.co/fDMPIhQs3J
I created a year-long elective class called Alternative Energy for grade 10-12 students. About half chem and half physics topics. Sharing if anyone needs a new elective at their school. #iteachchem#iteachphysics https://t.co/6ISjDLGrHb
@edutopia Use @evernote to take notes in class. I use a permanent link to share them with the students who are there and absent. Also allows me to keep an archive of my notes. Time saver and the kids like it.
Today's challenge in chemistry class, determine the mass of the log and the matchstick by using the wooden blocks as standards. Good discussion on uncertainty and sig fig with some scatterplot and regression.
@hankgreen I just taught this to my chemistry class today. I don't know the right term but I use "directly countable quantities" As not to be confused with counts that are based on mass like number of atoms in a sample.
@JustinAion Have the kids go outside and each get ten leaves off the same tree. Measure length and width. Enter in a spreadsheet and calculate, min, max, range, average, count. Have everyone in class combine data if you want to teach data sharing skills.
