@WorldAndScience Yes, right now AI is being used for political purposes. It's only only a matter of time before AI is used for criminal purposes. Criminals have used Google searches and the internet to commit crimes. AI, right now, is just a Google search with paragraphs.
Two hundred and fifty years ago, a group of Americans signed their names to a piece of parchment and made a promise no nation had ever made before: that we're all created equal, endowed by our Creator with unalienable rights — life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
We're the only nation in history built not on ethnicity, or blood, or geography but on an idea. That's always been what makes us exceptional. We chose that path 250 years ago but that’s where the work began, not where it ended. Every generation has had to choose it again. At Valley Forge, at Gettysburg, on the beaches of Normandy, in the streets of Selma. Americans recommitted themselves to the principles on which our nation was founded.
Now it's our turn.
There's nothing guaranteed about our democracy. We have to fight for it, defend it, and earn it. Over and over, year after year. That's not a burden. That's what it means to be an American.
250 years in, we still haven't fully lived up to those words in the Declaration. But we've never walked away from them, and this July 4, I hope all of us can commit to one thing: that we never will. I don't believe we're as divided as we're told we are. I've bet my whole life on the American people, and I'm not stopping now.
Happy 250th birthday, America. Our story isn't finished. Let's keep writing it together.
@certified_big0 Like our star soccer player! He looked like that in the group showers. He was straight but would moon girls. Several girls even stole his school photos from his locker.
Today, we celebrate our nation's independence and the people from every corner of the world who have come to our country in search of opportunity, freedom, and a better future.
I hope you have a safe, joyful, and restful Fourth of July surrounded by friends and family.
Happy Independence Day, Los Angeles. 🇺🇸
Like African Americans reclaimed the N-word, GLBTQ+ can reclaim the F-bomb. My suggestion:
Faggot: A permanently closeted homosexual who hates and fears GLBTQ+ and who actively cooperates with homophobes.
This week, I met with community leaders in Boyle Heights to listen. I am grateful to everyone who spoke up, shared their experiences, and made their voices heard. Your voices are shaping what comes next.
I know Boyle Heights. I've worked with community organizations here throughout the years, and I stand firmly with you today. Alongside Councilmember Jurado and Supervisor Solis, you have my commitment that I will fight to get this community the resources, support, and investment it deserves.
As air quality conditions and advisories have changed as firefighters have made progress, one thing has remained true: smoke is smoke, and I know many people in this community are suffering because of it. Please continue to take your health seriously, especially if you have asthma or other respiratory conditions.
The people of Boyle Heights know this fire did not happen in a vacuum. Environmental hazards have too often fallen on communities like this one. We will hold those responsible accountable, and the recovery of Boyle Heights will be shaped by the people who call this community home.
We are moving quickly to bring mobile health clinics to Boyle Heights, and I will soon be issuing an Executive Order to mobilize additional resources as we enter the remediation and cleanup phase.

@JenSiebelNewsom@GavinNewsom Best to you and your family. I changed parties from Trump Republican back to Democrat, in part because of Mayor Mamdani. Advice sent to Trump:
@WhiteHouse@Republicans Great mantra for both of Trump's policies, domestic and international. If I had Trump's ear for a few minutes, I would tell him that his party will lose big in November, but I would expect Trump to come back with a bipartisan agenda. Winners sometimes fail, but not for long!
