In the Baruipur case, the only key witness was Prabhas Mondal.

According to the investigation, it was Prabhas who informed the police that the victim’s body had been concealed inside a gunny bag and dumped in a pond. He also named the other accused, who were subsequently arrested.

Yesterday, however, a video surfaced that allegedly shows police personnel conversing casually with Prabhas and the other accused after their arrest. In that video, the name “Raja” is reportedly mentioned repeatedly.

Who is this auto driver Raja? Why has he not been arrested? Is he connected with @BJP4Bengal? Could he be the prime accused?

Then this morning came reports that Prabhas Mondal had been killed in a police encounter.

If Prabhas was indeed the key witness, why was he killed in an encounter? Does this raise questions about whether the investigation can now establish the full truth, including the role of any other possible suspects?
