Just spoke to someone who is taking his insurer to court over unending price hikes in health insurance,

He bought 50 L floater health insurance for parents for Rs. 60K in 2011.

In 2026, the premium shot up to an absurd 5 Lakhs (Father: 71, Mother: 70)

That jump came through back to back hikes of 54% and 12% (net of zero GST) in two consecutive years.

He can still afford it. That's not the point.
He wants the court to answer HOW FAR THESE HIKES CAN GO?

Told him he is doing public service for lakhs of senior citizens in India affected by this.

Hope this leads to something meaningful!

Clear tax is sending whatsapp messages to taxpayers across india to file the Income tax returns via them (they are illegally spamming and creating panic amongst taxpayers) .

This is one of the very critical issue regarding Income tax data leak to a private company via somebody.

I will also request ICAI to look into the matter as many of top management in clear tax are chartered accoutants and this is a serious case of canvassing.

The compliance burden on taxpayers filing ITR-5 and ITR-7 has become unreasonable.

✅️ Excel Utilities for ITR-5 & ITR-7 were released very late.
✅️ The offline utilities are still not available.
✅️ Online filing for these forms is also not enabled.

How can taxpayers and professionals be expected to complete filings through a complex Excel utility just before the due date?

It is a humble request to extend the due date for all ITR-5 & ITR-7 Returns which are currently due on 31.07.2026.

Kindly consider the genuine hardships being faced by taxpayers and professionals across the country. 🙏🏻

A young woman recently bought a new car and drove to a petrol pump to fill it up. She asked the attendant to add 85 litres of petrol.

After fuelling, the payment slip showed 85 litres, but her car’s meter displayed only 83 litres. When she questioned the difference, the staff claimed her new car’s meter was faulty.

An argument broke out and they asked her to leave or they would call the police. Instead, the woman called the police herself.
In the presence of the police, they drained and measured the petrol from her tank — it was exactly 83 litres.

She had been charged for 85 litres (a difference of just ₹500). The woman filed a complaint, and after investigation confirmed the tampering, authorities suspended the petrol pump’s licence for 7 days.

This is really, really unfortunate.
Insurers and their employees must show empathy to customers, especially when customers have loved ones in the hospital.

We do not know what happened in this claim.
So it is futile to comment on why the claim was rejected,

Accepting or rejecting a claim is the right of the insurer,
But ridiculing the customer is nothing short of pathetic,

When the agent says,
"Humse puchkar policy lia kya?"

It shows utter disregard for the customer,
Until the customer pays a premium,

The agent behaves nicely,
Just as a claim comes,
They say
"Humse puchkar policy lia tha kya?"
This is really shameful behaviour,

Even the employees of the insurance company are under an obligation to sit with the customer and explain why the insurer is rejecting the claim,
IRDAI also stipulates,
In case a claim is rejected,
The insurance company must educate the customer on the steps to be taken in order to get his issues addressed.

Clearly, no one is helping this customer.
