Twitter family, I was on TikTok Live earlier but couldnโt speak as freely as I wanted, so let me say this here.
The argument that @JaiiFrais has made a bigger impact on Jamaica than Ian Boyne is one I simply cannot understand. (HE IS SAYING THIS BTW)
No disrespect to @JaiiFrais , but Ian Boyneโs body of work is in a different historical context. Journalism from 1975, 30 years of Profile, 1,300+ interviews, Issues and Answers, Religious Hardtalk, decades of writing, numerous journalism awards, the Order of Distinction, and serving as Chief State Liaison across the administrations of Andrew Holness, Bruce Golding and Portia Simpson Miller, as well as the Office of the Governor-General.
That is not just a media career. That is a national legacy.
People can debate contemporary influence all they want, but comparing individual achievements should begin with the scale, longevity and documented record of the work.
Ian Boyneโs contribution to Jamaican journalism and public life deserves to be understood on its own terms. Some legacies are simply too substantial to reduce to a social-media comparison.
@guruintraining_ Sorloth's right foot is solely for balance. He is extremely one footed so the thought of attempting that pass with his right foot terrified him.
I am not interested in climbing any corporate ladders. I don't care about job titles. I don't need recognition or fame. I just want to have an income to fund my lifestyle, not be depressed, help other people, and be around good humans.
Rather, they're an impediment, a hindrance, an obstacle to goals, dreams, and comfort. The reproductive concerns of women definitely have had a significant impact and these need to be addressed. Everyone has to choose for themselves but I truly hate the state of play.
There has been a clear shift in societal values. From the 'f**k dem kids' meme, the 'throw the baby in the trash' meme, the 'keep the kids at home' proclamations during peak traffic, etc., it's clear that the predominant view is that kids are no longer a blessing.
So you really can't expect people to just go against something that has been forced into their belief system by society since they were children. Bleating on and on about population decline while ignoring the issues ppl are raising is pointless and it's getting ridiculous
