I don’t celebrate anything about the Karmelo conviction. I’m happy justice was done, but the whole thing is sad. One young life gone. Another effectively over. Groups of black people who’ve been lied to about everything their whole lives will be mad about it.
Whole thing sucks.
School boards are just as bad. They are yes people for the superintendents when they are supposed to be the checks and balances. Most teachers don’t even get a yearly cost of living raise because the superintendent will say that the money is needed elsewhere. It’s actually really bad.
You clearly don’t know how school districts work. It’s like every other job. Your boss gives you the “well you don’t have to” or “don’t you care about the kids.” Most (clearly not all) care about kids which is why they do it. Do you think there is worked in time to grade papers? Get their final grades ready for report cards? There isn’t. All of that is done on their “free” time. The government doesn’t s the problem.
This is just factually not true. A teacher signs into a contract for say 181 school days and they have the choice to receive their payment over the actual school year or spread it out to 365 days. Most choose 365 days because it’s nice to receive a paycheck during their time off. The time off is about the kids needing a break. You do not want to burn them out at young ages clearly. I was definitely on your side a while ago. If you do not consider the time a teacher actually puts in to what they are paid, they’re severely underpaid. Might be one of the most important jobs on earth. Pay does not reflect that.
I’m not a teacher but this is the wrong take. I used to make this same argument as well. After seeing how much actual teachers work after they leave school for the day, I totally changed my mind. Most of them shell out a lot of their own money for things for the classroom as well.
My most black-pilled thought is we won’t have this same country 100 years from now because there’s no long-term future for any country where half the citizens hate the place.
You just can’t keep a house when half the residents want to burn it down.
