@millennialdonut First time viewers can only go off of what lore has so far been established. At this point in S4, we don't have any lore to suggest these spells have any cost.
AND I would argue that spells that help avoid the end of the world, would be worth whatever cost they might demand.

I understand what you mean about future season spell cost exploration, but the idea that "magic has consequences" wasn't introduced until later seasons. Throughout season 1-4 tons of spells are cast with no obvious side effects.
