And many other dedicated patriots you never hear about.
Innovating on therapeutics each day, developing local diagnostics etc..
We honour you.
@StKyamutetera Stop. Just stop.
Fellow PR professional here with a degree to boot๐: not everything deserves a 1000-word press release. Y'all are just bitter that @kasujja is switching things up AND his style is actually working. You forget that people have short attention spans these days.
@StKyamutetera I believe there will be a lot more to @kasujja's work at @UgandaMediaCent than the snappy press statments that have become all the rage. He's been a creative disruptor of government communications and he's building the muscle to attract audiences that had never paid attention.
Despite the tyranny of numbers that overwhelmed us, we declare that ours was not a numerical challenge but a moral challenge. We took up a fight everyone was cowering from and faced attacks from many quarters including from friends blinded by short term considerations. Many counseled me to throw in the towel fearing the outcome of the ballot. When the counting started, one MP told me that due to strict partisan voting I would be lucky to get ten votes. I put my seat on the line by telling him that if I got less than ten votes I would resign from Parliament. That aside, despite the opposition we faced, the fight was worthwhile. Thanks to the power of outrage fueled by many patriots, Parliament can breathe again. Our collective efforts brought a gush of fresh air in Parliament.
I missed my flight in Nairobi once because of traffic on Mombasa Road.
Like fully missed it. I got to the airport sweaty, exhausted, dragging my suitcase like it personally betrayed me.
I already knew there was no chance, but I still ran to the counter hoping for mercy.
The woman checked her screen, looked at me, then said, โYou were the last passenger.โ
I laughed a little because what else do you do at that point?
Then she lowered her voice and said, โThe plane is still on the ground.โ
Next thing I know this airport employee is SPEED WALKING me through the terminal like weโre in an action movie.
Security waved me through, another worker grabbed my carry-on to help me run, and Iโm apologizing to literally everyone while fighting for my life.
I got to the gate completely out of breath.
The guy scanning boarding passes looked at me and said, โEh, Nairobi traffic. We understand.โ
People on the plane actually clapped when I walked in looking half dead.
I have never respected airport workers more in my life. Big up to them.
Some days you canโt love social media enough. This is one of those days. It began like this. Someone stole 12 tons of KitKats.
And then the replies started coming in. Scroll down.
