@British_Airways why is BA107 Heathrow to Dubai either running late or regularly cancelled (twice this week including today)? We fly BA107 this coming Thursday and growing increasingly anxious as we are only going to Dubai for 5 nights.
@DVBartram @virginmedia Same as you, cannot make contact via phone, or email, and when I tried the chat service last night they cut me off and shut down the chat at 8.10pm saying all ops were busy and they shut at 8.30pm.
@DVBartram @virginmedia You’re lucky……my 84 year old mum was out of contract, I phoned on her behalf to check what offers they were prepared to make, the price was not competitive so I told the sales person we would not go ahead but they’ve now issued an email with a new contract. Shabby tactics.
@TUIUK#rhodesfire#Rhodes
If anyone else from the Glasgow flight TOM1666 to Rhodes on last Saturday (22nd July) is on here, could you confirm that you heard the captain confirm that our slight delay was due to TUI UK having a meeting to decide whether it was safe for us to
that our resorts were being evacuated.
Clear decisions were made to take us regardless and we were all them dumped in an evacuation centre with little communication. Reps turned up but had no news and yesterday told us that they had no intention of finding us accommodation or
@TUIUK still haven’t had any confirmation as to when (or if) we can leave. Gave up and have booked flights ourselves to get home, as we couldn’t spend another night sleeping on the floor of the school we’d been dumped at straight from the airport. Will be seeking full compensation.
@jay_84__ @SimonCalder TUI are hedging their bets that there will be some spare rooms since they will stop flying people out over the next 2 days. Not putting any extra flights on to get us home, basically need to wait until next Saturday at this rate (we are lucky we pnly booked 7 days
@jay_84__ @SimonCalder Jay, not this time, the holiday companies knew when they flew us out that we had nowhere to go when we arrived.
Jet2 at least seem to have looked after their customers and a lot of those have flown back today. TUI has done the some total of nothing.
@ThomasH74911613 @SimonCalder I get that Tommy, but still doesn’t defend the stupidity of the decisions to compound an already impossible situation by bringing out 1,000s more passengers, who would either be taking up hotel rooms that the evacuated could have used or to make the centres even more crowded.
@TUIUK @NaturePoetsSong to say we could have chosen not to fly, we’d have been walking away from £5k as we would have been denied refunds if it was going against TUI decision).
@TUIUK @NaturePoetsSong Yet you still flew and have basically dumped my and a number of other families in an evacuation centre. How do you defend that decision, our holiday and many others ruined because you denied us the opportunity to chose for ourselves (and before any keyboard warrior jumps on
@TUIUK @NaturePoetsSong You should have cancelled yesterdays flights from UK. You knew these villages were being evacuated yet you flew us out (even announced before we left from Glasgow that the delay we were suffering was due to TUI UK holding a meeting to decide whether it was safe or not).
@SimonCalder We have been taken straight from the airport to an old school and now face a 2 ne night sleeping on the floor in very hot/sweaty conditions. The TUI reps have no (absolutely zero) information, just keep telling us the same thing (nothing).
@SimonCalder Simon, TUI UK flew us out from Glasgow yesterday (and a huge number of other holidaymakers from other UK departure airports) knowing 2 hours before the flight took off that Lindos and a number of other villages were being evacuated………local TUI rep at airport confirmed this.
@HomMahony Why keep flying people in though?……..makes no sense, we have nowhere to go and all TUI are doing is taking all the incoming flight passengers for the resorts that are being evacuated to overcrowded evacuation centres.
@TUIUK TUI flew us out to Rhodes today from Glasgow as well as all other departure airports from the UK even though they knew 2 hours before we were due to fly that our resort was being evacuated due to the wildfires.
