GOOD GOVERNANCE IS THE FOUNDATION OF A BETTER OGUN STATE
Good governance is not about occupying political offices, making empty promises, or using power to intimidate citizens. It is about serving the people with honesty, accountability, transparency, justice, and a genuine commitment to national development.
A government that truly cares about its people will invest in quality education, affordable healthcare, job creation, reliable electricity, good roads, security, and economic opportunities for all.
Nigeria does not lack resources; we need responsible leadership, effective institutions, and leaders with the courage to put the people first.

This is one of the most beautiful video you will see on the internet today.
Watching our dear senator and brother @KwankwasoRM dancing to the beautiful music of Ogene which shows unity among the NDC candidates for a better Ògún and the nation at large.
We must embrace love, unity and peace in such a time in Nigeria and do everything possible as leaders to unite the country and its citizens.

INTIMIDATION IS A THREAT TO DEMOCRACY IN NIGERIA
Democracy cannot thrive where citizens are afraid to speak, opposition voices are silenced, and people are intimidated for expressing their political opinions or supporting candidates of their choice.
The strength of any democracy lies in the freedom of its citizens to participate in governance without fear of harassment, unlawful arrest, threats, or political persecution.
No Nigerian should be treated as an enemy of the state simply for belonging to an opposition party, criticising those in power, or demanding accountability from elected leaders. Political differences should never become a justification for suppressing fundamental rights.
Democracy is not just about conducting elections; it is about protecting the people’s freedom before, during, and after elections.
Our Constitution guarantees fundamental rights, including freedom of expression, peaceful assembly, and association, subject to the law. These rights must be respected regardless of political affiliation.
We must stand firmly for the rule of law, credible elections, independent institutions, and a political environment where every citizen can participate freely and peacefully.
A government that fears criticism has a lot to learn about democracy. A nation that protects dissent strengthens its future.
Let us reject political intimidation and defend the democratic rights of every Nigerian. Our democracy must be built on freedom, justice, accountability, and respect for the people.

A credible electoral system is the backbone of every functioning democracy. When elections are free, fair, transparent, and peaceful, the people have the power to choose their leaders and determine the future of their nation.
Democracy must go beyond casting votes on election day. It must guarantee that every vote counts, every citizen’s voice matters, and every electoral process reflects the genuine will of the people.
However, electing leaders is only the beginning. Holding them accountable is the real test of democracy.
Our leaders must understand that public office is a public trust, not a personal inheritance. They must be accountable for public funds, transparent in their decisions, responsive to the needs of citizens, and committed to fulfilling their campaign promises.
When leaders fail, citizens must have the freedom to ask questions, demand explanations, criticize poor governance, and insist on results without intimidation and persecution.
We must build a political system where institutions are independent, electoral laws are respected, corruption is confronted, and the rule of law applies equally to everyone, regardless of political status or affiliation.
Nigeria deserves an electoral system that inspires confidence and a government that serves with integrity, transparency, justice, and accountability.
A better Nigeria begins with a credible electoral system and citizens who refuse to remain silent in the face of bad governance.

Earlier yesterday i was honoured to attend the inauguration of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Campaign Council with His Excellency @PeterObi and my political colleague Professor Shija Terhema the Governorship candidate in Benue state and other important Dignitaries, an important step towards strengthening our collective commitment to democracy, people-oriented leadership, accountability, and good governance in Nigeria.
The inauguration was more than a gathering; it represented a renewed commitment to building a political movement that prioritises the welfare of citizens, creates opportunities for our youths, supports our farmers, empowers women, and promotes inclusive development.
As we move forward, we must remember that politics should be about service, not self-interest; solutions, not empty promises; and the people, not personal ambition.
I believe Nigeria deserves leadership that listens to its citizens, respects the rule of law, protects fundamental rights, and delivers meaningful results. The journey towards a better Nigeria requires unity, courage, sacrifice, and the active participation of every patriotic citizen.
I remain committed to the vision of a better Nigeria and to the collective effort to build a future where justice, accountability, economic opportunity, and democratic values are guaranteed for all.
Together, let us build a Nigeria that works for everyone. The journey continues

I joined the country to send my condolences message for the passing of our dearest mother, Prof. Kamene Okonjo, beloved mother of Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and revered matriarch of the Umu Obi Obahai Royal Family of Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State.
It is with deep sadness that we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, @NOIweala friends, and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time.
Losing someone dear is a painful experience, and no words can fully express the sorrow that comes with such a loss. We pray that God grants the family the strength to endure this difficult moment, the comfort to heal, and the courage to face the days ahead.
May the beautiful memories of the departed bring comfort to those left behind, and may their legacy continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved them.
May the soul of the departed rest in perfect peace. Amen.

@PeterObi We must remember those who have served this country diligently in their way. May her soul rest in peace and also to remind us all of the importance of living a peaceful and a life worth celebrating. A life of integrity and dignity.
POLITICAL INTIMIDATION MUST NOT BE ALLOWED IN OUR COUNTRY
No Nigerian should be intimidated, harassed, or unlawfully arrested for supporting an opposition party or the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Democracy is built on freedom of expression, freedom of association, and the right of citizens to support the political party and candidate of their choice. These rights should not depend on whether a citizen supports the ruling party or the opposition.
When citizens are allegedly intimidated, threatened, or arrested simply because of their political beliefs, it raises serious concerns about the rule of law, human rights, and the health of our democracy.
Law enforcement agencies must remain professional, impartial, and accountable. Arrests must be based on lawful grounds, not political differences, personal vendettas, or attempts to silence dissenting voices. Every arrested person deserves due process and the protection of the law.
Nigeria belongs to all of us not just those in power. The strength of our democracy is measured not by how well the government tolerates praise, but by how fairly it protects those who disagree with it.
We therefore call for:
✅ An end to political intimidation and harassment.
✅ Respect for citizens’ constitutional rights.
✅ An end to arbitrary and unlawful arrests.
✅ Impartial law enforcement and equal justice for all.
✅ Protection for every Nigerian who peacefully expresses their political views.
Our demand is simple: Let the people choose freely without fear. Let the law protect everyone equally. Let democracy work for all Nigerians.
If any citizen is being targeted because of peaceful political support, the appropriate authorities should investigate credible allegations and ensure accountability where wrongdoing is established
