This morning, we hosted a candidate meeting in Bertrams, where our male candidates also took a stand in support of the fight against Gender-Based Violence (GBV).

The commitment was led by our Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL) representative, Stevens Mokgalapa, reaffirming the importance of men playing an active role in building safer communities and standing against GBV.

During the mass community meeting in Alexandra’s 17th and 18th Avenues, residents raised electricity and infrastructure maintenance as some of the biggest challenges facing their community.

Many residents have been left in the dark despite making financial contributions towards getting the necessary infrastructure repaired and restored.

A BOSA-led administration will prioritise fixing the way City Power operates, ensuring that Johannesburg residents receive the reliable services they deserve and pay for.

Despite the Public Protector's clear findings announced on 7 July 2026, absolute inaction remains the reality on the ground. This goes beyond a failure of service delivery, it is a direct violation of basic human dignity.

This site sits at the center of the Public Protector's ruling, which explicitly held the City of Cape Town accountable for failing its constitutional and legal duties to the people of Langa Flats and Khayelitsha. Months have passed since that announcement, joining years of broken promises and legal directives, yet zero meaningful action has been taken.
