“God’s mercies are new every morning because our troubles are new every morning, and there will always be sufficient mercy for the day’s trouble.” —John Piper
One of the church’s subtle, dangerous lies is that suffering disappears with ‘more faith’ or Bible verses. But Jesus, with perfect faith, was the Man of Sorrows and endured unimaginable suffering. Faith doesn’t erase all pain—it anchors us in it.
Since Jesus ascended we have been living in the “last days.” It is true that His return is sooner than it has ever been but He reminds us in the book of Matthew to “keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.”
Wars are currently raging across the globe and we could be on the verge of another conflict but understand that this is not new.
As Jesus told his followers 2000 years ago, “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.”
Stay vigilant. Fight for peace. Advocate for justice and adhere to truth. God is still on the throne.
“The decision to rejoice isn’t based on emotion but an intentional choice rooted in the belief that God is good and works all things together for good. It’s an act of trust in God's sovereignty, even when life doesn’t go as expected.” —Naomi Raine
“Who is like the Lord our God, who is seated on high, who looks far down on the heavens and the earth? He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap,”
—Psalm 113:5-7
The Great Exchange. My sin for His righteousness.
“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
2 Corinthians 5:21
This bloody, sorrowful Friday is indeed Good. Thank you Jesus.
“For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does He remove our transgressions from us.” —Psalm 103:11-12
