These simple solutions do not cost money. Just need senior leadership from medical, nursing, allied health + admin champions to make happen. Culture changes: AMOs not to round over lunch (we should be having lunch too!), nursing staff avoid paging, ask JMOs “have u had lunch?
We piloted trial of protected JMO lunch breaks where nurses only page with emergencies b/w 12-1pm. Simplicity of nurses/ward clerks asking JMOs if they’d had lunch made them feel valued. Also pts had their lunch with less interruptions. Win for all! Widespread roll out needed
