Thank you @ryanjespersen for speaking to our students @melazerte and @EPSBNews . So many great takeaways. Your message of respect for everyone's opinion is one we all need to continue to exercise.
“Teachers have a heavy heart and mixed emotions to see learning move online....We would always prefer to be in schools working with students, but the decision is a prudent move to regain control over the spread of COVID in Alberta" https://t.co/Od2DmylfS1 #abed#COVID19AB
1 month ago our Son Luke took his own life. The shock is gone & the fog has lifted. The pain & devastation is more real today then in the first few days. We are relentless as parents & still didn’t see it coming. Parents be relentless. Have the hard talks. Don’t avoid it. RT&talk
1...From what I understand, Red Deer typically has 12 ICU beds. They were COVID-equipped to go to 15. They are currently at 17. 1:1 nurse:ventilator has now become 1:2. These nurses are BURNING OUT. The ICU docs are BURNING OUT...2
Never been more proud to be part of this profession.

THIS is what professionalism & integrity looks like... what caring for students looks like... what our students deserve.
And thnx to AB teachers, this is what students will get. ✊❤

My oldest said her teacher was emotional as he dismissed them today. He said he hoped with all his heart that they would be okay and promised to be there for them no matter what. Teachers - we love you. And we see you. We see everything you do!
We are only going to get this virus under control if there is a deterrent to those who willingly put the entire community at risk.
Alberta’s NDP is calling for the Sol. Gen. to issue a guideline to police to consistently and vigorously enforce the Public Health Act. 2/2 #ableg
So @jkenney temp suspending spring sitting @ableg for cabinet & MLAs is ok but not for k-6 teachers across the prov, & not for Black Gold Sch Div that asked for this & were denied. The hypocrisy of this govt is staggering & embarrassing. @EdPubTeachers@albertateachers@ATAlocal8
So Kenney and his UCP won't go to the Legislature on account of the provincial spike in Covid19 but they still believe it's okay for thousands of kids and their teachers to go to school?
Once again, we have hundreds of schools online, what's the improvements being considered to the robust plan when they return? Or are we destined to repeat the cycle again? I know one place you can start, vaccinate staff working in schools. #vaccinateTeachers@UCPCaucus
