Once at Louvre, a French friend asked me how I felt about the Monalisa. I said "It's ok, looks nice."

They were in disbelief at my nonchalant reaction. I explained, in India:

- we see exceptional artwork in our nearby temples,
- hear exceptional traditional music from neighbors,
- read exceptional poetry from 1000 years ago,
- learn exceptional philosophies from 2000 years ago,
- enjoy exceptional superhero stories from 3000 years ago
- and see exceptional statues from 1000s of years ago
- all just like that, all around us, as part of our daily life

So all other work, be it the latest Hollywood Marvel universe flick or a Monalisa or a Mozart, they don't move us so much or make us go "wow" even as we appreciate and enjoy that art.

Just like how a person growing up in Switzerland isn't going to go "wow" entering New Zealand. But a person from Rajasthan may.

Indians should think about this and understand the richness of our culture. This is why we don't take to western names and western clothes and western culture in marriages or western music like the Chinese do.

The Dravidian movement is actually a Christian movement.

Christopher Joseph is going to become the seventh Christian CM of Tamil Nadu after CN Annadurai, Karunanidhi, MGR, VN Janaki, MK Stalin.

In Tamil Nadu, which has an 88% Hindu population, Christians, who constitute 6% of the population, dominate Tamil Nadu politics. It started with the establishment of the Dravidian Movement, which is actually a Christian movement. All the top leaders who emerged in the Dravidian Movement, which was started with British financial assistance, were neo-Christians. Since then, the top leadership of most of the parties that emerged in Tamil Nadu is held by leaders who have converted to Christianity. Apart from DMK and Anna DMK, be it the Christian party VCK or MDMK chief Vaiko or DMDK founder Captain Vijay, all were Christians. Even Communist Party chief D Raja is a Christian.

This is why Christian leaders maintain their dominance in Tamil Nadu politics. On the other hand, since the 1960s, the anti-Sanatan atmosphere within Tamil Nadu has been so strong that despite the Hindu majority, they cannot lead the state's politics. The fear instilled in the minds of Hindus in Tamil Nadu is even greater than in Bengal. The special thing is that in both Tamil Nadu and Bengal, these sentiments were set by the communists.
