The Family Farm Tax is a cruel measure that will devastate our agricultural communities, cripple families, and harm rural Britain.
The @Conservatives will reverse this brutal tax. 🚜 🌾
After a motion led by @BSKconservative, @BasingstokeGov has joined the coalition of local authorities objecting to Labour’s #FamilyFarmTax.
BDBC calls on Defra & HM Treasury to reverse course on their devastating reforms to agricultural property relief.

Labour inherited the fastest growing economy in the G7. However, two weeks since Labour’s Budget, and the economic effects are already being felt.
Flatlining growth, businesses closing, household bills increasing, taxes on farms and working people.
#Basingstoke. Labour's budget of broken promises:
- Taxes on working people raised
- Businesses hammered
- Borrowing hiked
- Living standards lowered
- Farmers squeezed
We were expecting it to be bad, but not quite this bad. 🥀
It is becoming increasingly clear who Labour politicians mean by 'Working People':
1) Trade Union members
2) Public sector workers
3) Themselves
That's it.
If you are not in any of these categories, don't expect anything from this government.

We know this Independent and Liberal Democrat administration are planning over 3000 houses in Popham, but where do they plan the 10,000 homes that a ‘New Town’ would involve? Where is next for ‘Housebuilding Harvey’?

❗️The Independents and Liberal Democrats claim that it is scaremongering to suggest they support New Towns being imposed on our borough.
🗣️This is the formal response to Government on the ‘New Towns’ proposal, by their leader, Cllr Paul Harvey:
