Looks like the Year 1 children aren't over the Jumble Sale just yet! They organised their own tombola and gave out artwork for prizes! πβ₯οΈ

A roaring congratulations to @BSMY1 for a successful Jumble Sale last week! As we continue to rally for sustainability, Year 1s became eco-warriors by selling 2nd-hand & other items that can still be used and raised money for our Disaster Relief Funds. #YouBelongAtBSM#BSM
We are back again in school and have been preparing for our Jumble Sale that will be happening very soon! The children helped sort the things they brought in, made posters and put up their own shop in the classroom and host their own jumble sale! π Looking forward to the day! β€οΈ
The children were overjoyed to learn that we will be getting a terrapin as a class pet soon. They quickly put into practice what they have learnt by collaboratively creating an ideal living space for our soon-to-be pet terrapin! π’
As we are learning more about non-fiction books in English, our #bsmyear1 students had a project of building their class bookshelf. It is wonderful to see everyone work and make things together!
To start off our day, we had an exciting and groovy e-learning class with Ms Tish! We did not only play a simple coding game with her but learned a new fun dancing game using shapes and different actions!

We are still on the search of who our mystery character is. We have made our own guesses of how the character may look like, where it lives, and how it may be feeling.π€

We celebrated the Ati-atihan Festival last week as part of our inter-cultural celebrations and recognising the Filipino culture. We made masks, played the "tambol" and ended our week with Ati-atihan dance.
"Empathy Masks" This week, we are learning about empathy and talked about how we can think of what others are feeling. We tried doing it with our masks on to also prepare ourselves for when we come to school and we cannot clearly see each other's whole faces.

We celebrated Diwali this week! We made Mathura Ke Pede or sweet milk balls, designed a Rangoli, and ended the celebration with our very own fireworks!
Happy Diwali! π
To celebrate well-being week in #BSMYear1, we had our virtual storytime with different year group teachers, a healthy Teddy Bear picnic, and also our feel-good day and Halloween class party to end the fun-filled week!
Let us not forget to take care of ourselves and others.
Whilst there are many activities that transpire in Year 1, we believe that connection is the most significant and powerful tool that these children learn! True connection make them feel valued and recognised thus, their brain work and learning becomes more natural! β₯οΈ

Mid-Autumn Festival is not complete without a mooncake, or in our case, a whole Year 1 batch of mooncakes! π
Don't all these mooncake creations impress you? β₯οΈ
