Thank you @awardsforall for funding BYT 7-11's https://t.co/Yu9eOt77pI from April '22 a fantastic project! Congratulations Max and Dave and all @ Brixton Youth Theatre!
Brixton Wholefoods is a staple of the community, but their greedy landlord is working overtime to push them out of the area.
They’ve now started a fundraiser to save the shop - please donate if you can & share it widely! https://t.co/puF1BfMjGU
One OBR chart not mentioned by Chancellor. Trade with EU sharply down, and consistent they say with their projection that reduced trade post Brexit would reduce productivity (hence living standards etc) by 4%. Which is bigger than expected long run effect of pandemic
NEW: there’s been a lot of chatter about why cases, hospitalisations and deaths are much higher in the UK than elsewhere in Western Europe.
I think a lot of the commentary has been overly simplistic, politicised and at-times flat-out wrong.
Let’s see if we can do better:
Out of interest is anyone actually defending the principle of a National Insurance rise that means:
- the landlord with hundreds of properties pays exactly zero pence, while workers foot the bill
- the 66 year old on £50k pays nothing, the 25 year old on £20k coughs up £100
Please keep emailing your MP and @BorisJohnson@10DowningStreet Our mission has expanded - we need support & funds. Going FB live to explain briefly. We need safe travel corridors to airport - actual Embassy staff to talk to. Time is running out. @domdyer70@BBCBreaking@SkyNews
Thanks to @MarcusRashford we have funding for 2 drama projects this summer under Holiday Activities and Food programme - You and the team are the best of British
UK govt has refused to find £10m for @BritishCouncil - forcing closure of 20 vital overseas offices. A hammer blow for our soft power.
Since 1934 BC has won friends & influenced people worldwide, yet @DominicRaab@RishiSunak seem determined to lose friends & alienate ppl. 1/3
Then imagine we expect the children to engage in learning from home. Not to mention the parents who, at times, have to teach them who probably haven’t eaten at all so their children can...
We MUST do better. This is 2021
When I remember the struggling small businesses who offered nutritious free meals to children last Oct & then see what corporations contracted by the Govt are delivering, it makes my blood boil
I'm glad Chartwells & @educationgovuk are now investigating

#FreeSchoolMeals On the left £30 of food. On the right what private company Chartwells have supplied having been awarded a government contract to supply for £30 free school meals.
Utterly shameful profiteering off some of the country's most disadvantaged kids!
