We are working overtime in the department to make sure our online instruction starting next week is as effective as possible. In the meantime, everyone please take care of yourselves and each other. The health of our students, staff, and faculty is our top priority.
As of right now, the library will remain open. If you do come to study, try to give yourself some space and keep being vigilant in your hygiene.
We will keep you updated as things change. Thank you for your patience!

Dr. Furuto is one of our incredible Math Education alumni. She is now a professor of Mathematics Education at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa and is the founding director of the world's first ethnomathematics program. @uhmanoa
From @byumagazine's newest issue: Like a real-life Moana, Dr. Linda Furuto uses principles of ethnomathematics to sail across the world on a traditional voyaging canoe—teaching the children she encounters along the way about math, wayfinding, and culture. https://t.co/Kt5YTvQim6
Dr. Furuto sails with the Polynesian Voyaging Society (PVS) as an education specialist. The canoe, called Hōkūle‘a, has no GPS, clock, sextant, or motor onboard. Members of PVS sail using the stars, hand measurements, and the Hawaiian Star Compass as their guide.
Congrats to Dr. Joshua L. Andersen of the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry for receiving a prestigious research grant from the American Cancer Society! We are excited to see the work that he and his students will do.
10 new moons of Jupiter discovered! Coolest part is that one little one moving the right way goes through the rest of them, clumped together and orbiting retrograde, the wrong way. Maybe they collided and broke up anciently? https://t.co/dlefmSpGvh

Your face when you realize that tomorrow is the last day of finals. Good luck to all of our students out there! (Picture was taken at our 2018 Chem Camp!)
Here's a photo of the winners our our College Game Competition: @BYU ! Be sure to check out their game, Beat Boxers, in West Hall, and congrats to all the finalists. #E32018
Once again, BYU animation students have created a video game that is a finalist @E3 The game is called "Beat Boxers" and here's a sneak peak: https://t.co/TP4DeTnlar
We won an award at the @BYU Golden Hashtag Awards for our Insta story takeover featuring Dean Reese! He was a pretty good sport about it all 😄 https://t.co/sa4OKahOvm
This may be the only Insta story takeover by a college dean at any university in the history of Instagram. But it would still the best dean takeover in the history of Instagram, even if there have been more. @BYU_CPMS
