Any unseeded acres out there? We have contracts available for summer plantings of timothy, tall fescue and perennial ryegrass! Now that our moisture is back take advantage and plant a crop that thrives in it! 🌾
It’s day number one of Ag Days, and we’re already having fun. If you’re at the show, make sure you stop by to say hi — we’ll be waiting for you! You can find us at booths 675 and 676 in the curling club.
Perennial ryegrass underseeded with spring wheat is looking really strong going into fall. If you’re looking to diversify or extend your crop rotation this could be a good fit on your farm. Reach out to myself or your @BrettYoungSeeds production rep to learn more.
#DYK you can get special pricing on our exclusive plant growth regulator until the end of May? Parlay is for turf-type PRG seed production, decreasing your plant height and lodging so you get the yield you worked for. Contact your SPS today to learn more: https://t.co/6nWRWZK5Oc
BrettYoung is taking on Ag Days this week! Stop by and see us at booths 676 & 677 and meet the self proclaimed face of our company @BY_CordFerguson and come talk seed production!
Have you considered the benefits of applying fall fert?
• Your crop has nitrogen available to kickstart growth earlier
• Springtime doesn't always cooperate (like this year)—you can't always apply as early as you'd like
• Free up some extra time in the spring
Give it a try!

Take extra care with your nurse crop harvest – it can greatly improve over-winter survivability for your underseeded grass crops!
Avoid leaving tough chaff behind and remember: be mindful of your stubble height (keep 8–10 consistent inches, as a rule of thumb).
‼️Contract Opportunity Available: Fall Forage Establishment‼️
MASC's crop insurance window for seeding perennial ryegrass is from August 10th–31st

Last call to check your PRG for late signs of leaf and stem rust!
Check by rubbing your index finger & thumb on the seed head & stems – you'll see rust spores on your hands. Depending on maturity, a late rust infection may be controlled by a last minute fungicide application.
🚨Time to be on the lookout for late arriving leaf and stem rust 🚨
First appearance of it this year in the Parkland. With swathing still roughly two weeks out, we’ll want to give this a shot of fungicide to shut it down and protect yield.
@BrettYoungSeeds
Don't forget about fungicide!
In wet conditions it’s even more important to protect your perennial ryegrass crop against stem and leaf rust.
When your ryegrass begins to flower, and you see pollen start to roll across your fields (also known as dusting), it’s time to apply.
Great looking field of Alfalfa in its 2nd year of seed production. If you’re interested in a crop tour of this and other forage and turf species DM me. @BrettYoungSeeds
