Here’s a fun one: The best kept secret in the NFL Draft is Tongan OT Giovanni Manu, who checks in at a freakish 6.073, 352lbs. Manu ran 4.96 at his Pro Day, which featured half the league in attendance. He also verted 33.5 inches.
Manu just concluded his first 30 visit, with the #Cowboys. He played football for the University of British Columbia and has six 30 visits on the docket as of now. @itsyaboigio
Theo Benedet met with 3 NFL teams privately following today’s pro day & already has a top 30 visit scheduled.
I chatted with both he & Manu:

OL Theo Benedet & Giovanni Manu put on a show at the #UBC Pro Day at BC Place, with 16 NFL teams in attendance.
Manu:
6’7” 353 lbs,
40: 5.02😳
Vert: 33.5 vert, Broad: 8’11”, Shuttle: 4.91 short, Bench: 23
Benedet:
6’7” 293 lbs,
40: 5.14 (on a bad ankle)
Vert: 34.4”, Broad: 9’6”, Shuttle: 4.60, Bench: 23
I’m not expecting to see either @itsyaboigio or @theobenedet71 in the CFL for some time
I spoke to a number of NFL scouts in attendance and all believe these guys have a great shot to play in the NFL. Possible late round @NFLDraft selections or at the very least priority UDFA’s. Many said they’d be fighting for these guys in the draft meetings. One is on their way to UBC as we speak to meet with Manu in person, who wowed scouts with his 40 time at 350 lbs

“I take pride in being one of the first Japanese players to play in this great league. The Grey Cup is the main goal, not history."

@Lesmaruo44 Congrats Les!! We will be cheering you on tomorrow. @takeruyamasaki we will be watching you on Friday as well. Can’t wait. Good luck to you both. #japaneseincfl
I will suggest Brad Yamaoka (@BYammy30) from right here in Kamloops preceded Les Maruo for players of Japanese descent, but Les would certainly be first Japanese-born player.
