I have quibbles but I found this broadly true in my own education. I loved lectures and found almost no value in “discussion section” w hungover frat guys who didn’t read the novel
This is absolutely true. The pedagogical ‘common sense’ that lectures are bad, that assigned readings should not be challenging, that teachers must ‘meet students where they are at’ rather than helping them to cross distance, is an unfortunate misconception of a good education.
This week we talked about 9/11 in class and I said something like “the day permanently changed history” or whatever, and one of students goes LIKE THE DAY MICHAEL JACKSON DIED, and I was like yeah that was a big one too
Completely disingenuous and smarmy from Tucker who absolutely knows better and even sheepishly admits in the clip that he uses algebra. He’s just got minor ambitions to be the American Hitler or something so he’s feigning John Everyman. He thinks you’re really stupid!
Tucker Carlson questions algebra, calling it “fake math with letters”
“That’s why you use fake math with letters. Congratulations to everybody out there in the Matrix”
