🔵 ORR Metro Update
Afcons, BMRCL, AS Cranes team, in coordination with traffic police, today launched composite girders at Silkboard between the span ORP12-ORP13, which is over the existing Silkboard flyover.
ORP12 portal beam was cast just 9 days ago. Great to see the quick conversion to girder launch.
Kudos to the entire team involved 👏

Good.
That means lower construction costs, less financial burden on BMRCL, fewer vehicle emissions, less induced demand, faster construction, and lower fares for city residents.
@naveenmzs@krishnabgowda@OfficialBMRCL This is good news. hope it isn't delayed further. Double decker throughout the line was really dumb to start with.
Total double decker component of Bangalore Metro’s Phase 3 corridor is now reduced to 7.06-km

🛤️ Baiyappanahalli Depot
A single track connecting the depot and elevated viaduct has been established. Third rail works & Side wall works are ongoing.
#BMRCL#NammaMetro
@BMTC_BENGALURU to launch 5 dedicated feeder bus routes to 4 #PinkLine metro stations.
30 buses, 415 trips, 10-min freq.
Real-time info of buses arriving at nearby stops to be displayed at #PinkLine metro stations through API-based data integration/sharing.
@FriendsofBMTC
Bengaluru citizens under the banner of @deardk_blr will form human chains on Oct 11 at 11am at Indiranagar SV Metro-KFC Signal & Jayanagar Rose Garden Park to oppose B-SMILE's elevated corridor projects.
They demand tender cancellation, sustainable mobility funding & B-SMILE’s replacement with BMLTA, citing tree loss, congestion & park destruction.
Bengaluru's suburban rail airport corridor viaduct work has begun on a 450-metre stretch in front of Yeshwanthpur railway station, with 34 of 88 piles completed.
Land acquisition has started for Majestic (KSR)-Devanahalli stretch.
Joint Measurement Certificate sketches are ready for 15 of the 25 km between Yelahanka & Devanahalli, with work underway on KSR-Yelahanka stretch.
A 1.4-km double-decker rail corridor is planned at Yelahanka, with airport line at Tier 2 & Corridor 4 at Tier 1.
@KridePrm
Karnataka cabinet has okayed 200 new BS 6 minibuses (7m each) for @BMTC_BENGALURU.
These buses will cover narrow lanes on metro routes (Green/Yellow/Pink lines).
BMTC currently runs 255 (12m & 9m) metro feeder buses.
It could not lease e-minibuses earlier due to high bid amounts.
The north vs south Infra gap is real - expressways.
@ChristinMP_ someone needs to come to Delhi and see it. The number of new greenfield roads is insane.
For KA, the central govt has put even the STRR into cold storage.
Building a metro inside a booming city is hard: tunnels under Majestic, a multi-level interchange at Jayadeva, viaducts over narrow, busy roads, in a city growing faster than we can build anything. Grateful to every engineer & worker @OfficialBMRCL for keeping at it.
How the network grew in 15 years (see chart)
6.7 km → 96 km (103.6 km once Pink Line begins)
6 stations → 88; 150 coaches (2017) → 400+
25,000 → 10 lakh+ daily trips
The next chapter is already under construction, and it's going to be a big one. #BlueLine #ORR #Airport
Combined with 45 Lakh+ daily trips delivered by ~7000 buses of @BMTC_BENGALURU, Bengaluru is finally becoming a city with a good public transport network - @KridePrm will be joining the network.
Last mile remains a challenge.
@blrmetrotracker Any idea when the trial runs might start for the UG section? There seem to be no media updates about the UG section progress whatsoever..
Whats the status of PinkLine UG section?
What 5% work is remaining?
Have the PSDs installed at all 12 UG stations?
Whats status of 3rd rail power system installation?
After this, pushing of PinkLine train via Jayadeva for UG Trials!
