Why is it that those who speak out against corruption, nepotism, and incompetence are branded as enemies of the state? The sheer ferocity, viciousness, and resources unleashed against them speak volumes about the nature of the government.
Good day. I hope you are well. Something happened this morning, 11 June 2026, in Waterfalls that really disturbed me.
A schoolgirl was crossing the road at the corner of 4th Avenue and Masotsha Ndlovu Way on her way to school when she suddenly fell in the middle of the road and started convulsing. Fortunately, drivers coming from both directions noticed the danger and slowed down, so she was not run over.
I tried calling 991, but the line was constantly busy. I then rushed to Health 24, which is only about 20 metres from where the girl had fallen. We did not know what was causing her condition, and we were afraid to move her because none of the people present had first-aid training.
When I arrived at Health 24, I asked if they could send an ambulance or a first-aider to assist. The first question I was asked was, "Who is going to pay?" That was heartbreaking. The staff member then said they needed to call their supervisors first, and at that moment I felt that help was either not coming or would be delayed.
I returned to the scene shortly afterwards and was told that a group of Apostolic church members had passed by. One of their leaders stopped to help, and after someone identified the girl, they took her home and prayed for her there. However, from the way she fell, it appeared that she had hit her head and needed medical attention.
This incident has left me thinking. If private health institutions require payment before responding to emergencies, what can be done to ensure that more people have basic first-aid skills? Should first aid be taught in schools and communities so that ordinary citizens can help during emergencies?
Are there places where people can receive first-aid training, even free of charge? The truth is that this young girl could have died while lying just 20 metres away from a health facility.
I also wonder whether private hospitals have a social responsibility to assist in genuine emergencies involving children, the elderly, or other vulnerable people. Surely there should be situations where immediate help is provided first and payment arrangements are dealt with afterwards.
🏆 Referee announced for 2026 #SuperCup!
We're pleased to share that Somali referee Omar Artan will officiate the highly anticipated match between PSG and Aston Villa in Salzburg.
This is Hon @gladyshlatywayo she has told the speaker of parliament that @ZANUPF_Official does not have a 2/3 majority from the people , it was only given that by Tshabangu after recalling 33 legitimately elected Members of parliament.
Effectively she has destroyed the Zanupf base exposed the lie that Zanupf has the people’s mandate, its only dirty tricks played by the speaker of parliament to accept fraudulent recall letters and the justice minister Ziyambi to legalise the fraud.
Without which Zanupf can not and did not have the people’s vote for two thirds majority.
Gladys Hlatywayo is a CCC MP for Harare Province under Proportional representative!
What an absolute disgrace. A FIFA-certified referee being denied entry to the United States purely because he is Somali.
The World Cup is meant to bring people together. This is racism, plain and simple. Shameful.

I have just read @DMwonzora 's excellent opinion piece of #CAB3 published in @NewsDay_Zim today.
I respectfully concur with everything he has stated, in particular an argument that I have not employed to date, namely that the proposed changes are ultra vires (an effectively amend and diminish) Sections 67(1)(a) and (3)(a) of the Bill of Rights, namely the right of all citizens to vote in elections for public offices established in terms of the Constitution, which includes the office of President.
I also concur that because of this not just one referendum is required but two as is clearly laid out in Section 328 of the Constitution.
In the face of ZANU-PF and even wearing a scarf an ED symbol veterans of liberation have finally opened their eyes 46 year after independence, they are given mass produced bicycles as reward for liberating the country. Educated as they are, they live in abject poverty
