In a recent interview, a 14-year-old Jewish student in Paris 🇫🇷 recounted the hell he endured at school because of his Jewish identity.

He was harassed, assaulted, and subjected to antisemitic slurs by classmates and students from nearby schools. The abuse escalated to the point where he was beaten in an ambush outside his school.

Abandoned by the school staff, he ultimately chose to transfer for his own safety. The principal is required to report such incidents to the authorities, yet he failed to do so. Not only did he fail to protect this 14-year-old boy, he also allowed his suffering to remain hidden.

This is how severe the situation has become for Jewish students in France. Antisemitism is reaching alarming levels inside schools.

I wish this were an isolated case, but he is far from the first student to leave school since October 7 due to antisemitism.

Schools must take antisemitism seriously, and act now.
