این حرف شما غرب‌زده هست! در غرب مذهب شما به عنوان فرهنگ شما پذیرفته میشه. بطور مثال، یهودیان به عنوان اروپایی پذیرفته نمی‌شدند، و با وجود بی‌دین بودن، خودشون رو به صورت فرهنگی یهودی می‌دونند. در ایران کشوری که هزاران سال تاریخ و تمدن داره و پیش از اسلام این هویت ایرانی وجود داشته، یک ایرانی احتیاج نداره دینش رو به عنوان فرهنگ اولویت بده! مشکل اینجاست که دقیقا امثال شما ایرانی بودن رو کافی نمی‌دونید، و تفکرات جهان‌وطنی دارید؛ برای تضعیف هویت ایرانی میخواهید دین رو به تقلید از غربی‌های یهودی و مسیحی به فرهنگ ایرانیان تبدیل کنید.
پ.ن. با گفتن اینکه من کتاب خوندم، نوشتم، فلان جا درس میدم، شما هیچ حقانیتی پیدا نمی‌کنید و چه بسا این نگاه از بالا به پایین‌تون به توده مردم واقعا جای تاسف داره. در واقع نحوه برخوردتون با دغدغه‌های مردم و در جواب به سوال‌هاشون بیشتر شبیه آریستوکرات‌ها هستید تا پژوهشگران علوم اجتماعی که دغدغه بهبود امور مردم رو دارند.

Asking a politician to pre-exclude a constitutional option from a democratic process and calling that journalism reveals a basic confusion about what democracy means. Half of Europe is a constitutional monarchy. The form of government is decided by the people, not by journalists with an uninformed prior. This is not a gotcha question. It is an own goal. #Iran

Prins @PahlaviReza heeft vaak gezegd dat mensen die beweren zijn aanhangers te zijn, moeten zich gedragen naar normen die hij zelf in acht neemt: tolerantie, respect voor andere opvattingen et cetera. Samen met @UlysseEllian heb ik ook een massale aanval (scheldpartij, en soms bedekte bedreigingen) in de sociale media meegemaakt. Na onderzoek was gebleken dat het door de Iraanse inlichtingendiensten was georganiseerd en tevens diende een paar mensen zich als nuttige idioten aan. Pahlavi heeft geen politieke partij of een partijorganisatie voor het organiseren van aanhang. Omdat hij voorbij zoiets als partijbelang opereert. De organisatie van de prins is slechts bezig met de strijd tegen het regiem en het voorbereiden van de transitie. Daarom klopt de titel ‘Iraniërs worden van alle kanten bedreigd, ook uit naam van 'democraat' Pahlavi’ niet. Iraniërs worden daadwerkelijk door een groep serieus bedreigd: het Iraanse regiem. Vorige week arresteerde Engeland een paar mensen die een aanslag op de collega’s van @NOS , journalisten van Iran International wilden plegen. De tendentieuze berichtgeving van NOS zal morgen door de IRGC en andere killers als een welkome berichtgeving worden ontvangen en verspreid.

@vali_nasr Generalizing about an entire society from a sample of one isn’t analysis, it’s anecdote and in this case, a staged one. A quick return to basic social science methodology might help before presenting this as an expert insight on Iran.

When a political science professor at Johns Hopkins relies on unverified claims rather than evidence, and The New Yorker amplifies it, we have a problem. A label reportedly based on rumor adds no analytical value; it simply targets an opposition figure’s reputation. This is narrative framing, not analysis. Concerning for academia and journalism in the U.S.

توییت اخیر ترامپ یک بار دیگر نشان داد که ماجراجویی جمهوری اسلامی می‌تواند ایران را به آستانه مرحله‌ای تازه از ویرانی برساند؛ مرحله‌ای که در آن، زیرساخت‌های حیاتی کشور مستقیماً هدف قرار می‌گیرند. ترامپ صریحاً تهدید کرده است که اگر تردد کامل در تنگه هرمز از سر گرفته نشود، زیرساخت‌های برق ایران هدف قرار خواهند گرفت.

در چنین وضعی، دیگر نمی‌توان پشت واژه‌هایی مثل عرق ملی، تمامیت ارضی و مخالفت با جنگ پنهان شد و هم‌زمان از مرزبندی روشن با جمهوری اسلامی طفره رفت. آن بخش از منتقدانی که در روزهای اخیر، زیر نام مخالفت با جنگ، عملاً در کنار نظام ایستادند، حالا باید تکلیف خود را روشن کنند. اگر واقعاً نگران جان ایرانیان‌اند، باید بی‌پرده از جمهوری اسلامی بخواهند که از تهدید بستن تنگه هرمز دست بردارد و بیش از این با سرنوشت کشور قمار نکند.

اگر این جماعت هنوز خود را مدافع ایران می‌دانند، وقت آن رسیده است که از گلایه و مرثیه عبور کنند و جمهوری اسلامی را برای واگذاری قدرت به مردم زیر فشار بگذارند، از راه تشکیل مجلس مؤسسان و آغاز یک گذار مسالمت‌آمیز به دموکراسی. هر چیز کمتر از این، فقط خریدن زمان برای نظامی است که بارها نشان داده بقای خود را بر جان مردم ترجیح می‌دهد.

Happy to engage with substantive arguments. Personal attacks don’t add much to the discussion.

Since you mention timelines, a look at yours shows a pattern of effectively whitewashing a regime’s mass killing of civilians and its systematic silencing of millions through internet shutdowns, while you clearly maintain access to the internet from inside Iran.

The irony of lecturing others about decency while resorting to insults speaks for itself.
