IGP DISU COMMENDS NPF AND OTHER SECURITY FORCES FOR SUCCESSFUL RESCUE OF ABDUCTED OYO PUPILS, HONOURS FALLEN SERGEANT

IGP Tunji Disu (@TunjiDisu1) at the Force Headquarters, Abuja today, has commended officers of the Nigeria Police Force and other security forces for their professionalism, courage, and seamless collaboration in the successful rescue of teachers and pupils abducted from Oriire School in Oyo State.

The IGP praised the coordinated operation that led to the safe rescue of the victims, describing it as a testament to the effectiveness of inter-agency cooperation in tackling security challenges.

He also paid tribute to Sgt. John Abena, who lost his life during the operation, describing him as a gallant officer who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Reaffirming the Force’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel, the IGP assured that the Nigeria Police Force would continue to provide necessary support to officers injured in the operation, as well as the families of fallen personnel.
