@Stikov@fMRI_today We can discuss many of these, but quickly, for 2 (which was the point of the talk), there are numerous opportunities, from the BMGF-ISMRM mentorship program to simply asking. By definition, it is open, and we want more people involved.
@Stikov@fMRI_today e.g., connectivity, power, personnel and training, maintenance and service, etc. These are challenges in LMICS as well as many parts of HICs. I'm disheartened that wasn't the message you got from the talk.
@Stikov@fMRI_today 2. A low cost (high or low field) scanner alone isn't going to advance those applications in LMICs. What I had tried to do was present some example applications and then focused on engineering challenges that the community also needs to address,
@northernthrux The worst place to have empty seats, since the armrests are solid and don't move. Just left longingly looking at what sleep could have been :(
@LauraStroudPhD@BrownUniversity Can she write back to a program that ‘accidentally’ rejected her and say ‘ahem…….perhaps an error was made in judgement?’ Or why doesn’t Brown offer a rising student a position?
@AndrewCLynn @mendeley_com Papers still seems to work nicely if you write in Word. Sadly, I have papers for pdf management and EndNote for citations as I use Pages for writing when not LaTex / Overleaf
@CatherineALebel @ClaireDonnici@XiangyuLoong@Jess_E_Reynolds@DrNLetourneau Yeah, realized after the fact what you meant. But having unbalanced groups can cause some problems even in continuous analyses - as this example graph illustrates pretty clearly I think.
@ClaireDonnici @CatherineALebel @XiangyuLoong@Jess_E_Reynolds@DrNLetourneau Sorry - didn’t mean the depression cutoffs, I meant the ages. Almost all of the non depression exposed kiddos were followed longer, so the difference in curves you’re seeing could just be edge effects. You could check by limiting the upper ages to be the same in both groups
@cohen_lab Not I said the fly. I’ve often wondered what’s so magical about the K99/R00? I was extremely luck for my first grant to be an R01, but those seem actually less competitive? And you stand on your own not so much your mentor team.
Pleased to see our GSED protocol paper now published! Massive team effort… Protocol for validation of the Global Scales for Early Development (GSED) for children under 3 years of age in seven countries | BMJ Open https://t.co/SraRB6DaXt
@DanLam211@TOrynski Trucks don’t stop on a dime. Drivers are looking several cars ahead. If you’re in the middle, you can’t see beyond the car in front of you. You’d have to move over so you are half in the next lane just to see what coming.
